Totally different here. You are out of your league on this one. Sorry man. Trust me. In time that betch is coming down. You can't stop it. One day it will fall on your head and you will be forced to deal with it. Mine as well bite the bullet and get it over with now. Love your car though. Looks nice.

You CAN NOT patch the headliner. FORGET ABOUT IT. It won't work. The headliner is going to fall down on each of your heads. It is a VERY common problem with the crossfire and has happened to most of us already. It could be a combination of bad glue from the factory with the fact our headliners were never fully wrapped properly.

Save yourself the time and trouble. Have a headliner guy do the job for 140 dollars which includes the material and labor. That is what I did. That seems to be the price that most people paid (some people paid less).

Don't go to the dealer. They will probably charge about 500-600 dollars and put the same old garbage on. Just have it done by a local expert. They will use new material that looks identical to the original... it will be done right and it will never fall on your head again!
Just because you cant do it, doesnt mean that it cannot be done! Man, some people around here are just plain full of themselves! You think that owning a car for 7 years makes you a pro? So, I guess that means you are a professional painter? Tire and wheel guy? Engine builder on the 3.7? No??? Why not, you have owned one for 7 years? haha Thats just DUMB thinking(or lack of). I have only had this car for a short time, but a headliner is a headliner. What makes this one so special? So, I can replace headliners on a half dozen various cars of my own and another half dozen of friend's cars, but I will fail at this one? That thinking and that attitude is just plain idiotic. I WILL do my own, and I WILL do it well, and it WILL last. You will see, not that I really care haha Some people!!!

BTW: Miata...that is a damn good-looking "waste of money". If I wasted money like that, I would be so happy! lol Great job bro!

Thanks for the thumbs up on the lip! If it makes some people feel better.. upon closer inspection of my headliner it is also starting to let go at the "A pillar" so a temporary patch attempt is off the table..
They still make that furry stuff you could get back in the 70's?

It is a faux carbon fibre finish in a fabric that is much more pliable and easier to glue than most of the vinyl type carbon fibre materials out there. Available on ebay.

These are cell phone pics and do not do it justice, but here are a few of mine...

It really makes the center spine stick out quite a bit more...

I have said it before and I will say it again, and again and again for the next 20+ years on this forum.

That headliner is falling down and YOU CAN'T STOP IT> The only thing you can do is replace or reupholster the entire headliner.

Lucky for you the cost is cheap. If you can't afford $100 dollars then you shouldn't own this car. You can't patch the headliner on this car because the glue is bad from the factory and it will eventually all fall down. But people around here that have owned the car for less than a year think they know it all. What applies to your Mitsubishi eclipse ricer does not apply to the crossfire. I am a long time owner of the crossfire. YES! SEVEN YEARS I am not an expert... but I have been dealing with this car long enough to know what to expect. My advice is based on my own experience combined with watching fellow crossfires dealing with the same exact problem OVER THE PAST 7 YEARS! If others don't want to listen to my experience then you will never survive in the real world at a real job with a real boss. You will never learn anything if you are think headed and don't listen! Save yourself the time and trouble by LISTENING to others around here. You would think that someone who comes on here looking for help would at least LISTEN to someone that has owned this car for 7 years.

You can redo the entire headliner yourself... or spend the extra 40 dollars to have it done by a professional. I decided to let a PRO do it rather than waste my time. My time is important to me... and I make too much money per day for jacking around with a headliner.

My intent was not "this ull fix it good".. more along temporary lines.. 2-6 months .. maybe.. if I hadn't already "fixed" the edges turning loose I would have been replacing it 8 months ago. Guess your attitude towards anything new is why a 99-00 Honda front air dam has gone so long "undiscovered".. not like there aren't 50 million of them running around in your face. Some things are a highly technical challenge with this car... a headliner doesn't qualify. Last I checked "when and where" I spend my money.. is my business.. But If you really feel I need to consult you from here out... Here's my phone number..

Any pictures from anyone who has beige pillars and replaced with a different colour liner?

Thanks,

Sorry I missed this, thanks Boiler for stepping in.

I got my inspiration from Boiler and others here and read up on it on BMW forums DIY- Trims wrap with CF fabric - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum - E90Post.com

bought it from BMW Led Angel Eyes E92 E93 E90 E91 M3 LCI Lighting Beru TPMS RDE008 RDE012 RDE001 RDE004 RDE010 Mtec V3 H8 H11 Gp Thunder D1S D2S D3S D4S

bought 3 yards (plenty and probably only need 2 yards max). Had a headliner shop do the headliner with commercial adhesive (only took them 3 hours) charging me $100.00 after I removed it and took it to them. Did the A pillars and sunvisors myself with 3M super 77. Very slick, cheap, easy install, doesn't effect noise road noise etc...

Yep... you discover a front lip and put that on your crossfire. Sounds great and glad you love it... glad you can rub that in everyones face that told you it couldn't be done. I bet you feel like Neil Armstrong walking on the moon for the first time! Here is the truth... I don't care about a front lip. It does nothing for me and even if I could put one on, I wouldn't. I could care less about your spoiler. What I am here to discuss is your headliner.

Patching up your headliner won't buy you time. It is only holding it up. Eventually the ENTIRE headliner will fall on your head while driving. Then you can call yourself at your 900 number...

It already did.. please re-read my post.. and get help with the bigger words.. maybe then you can understand 8 months ago it started turning loose. Never said front lip was for everyone.. personally carbon fiber would be the last thing I'd put on my headliner.. but that's just my preference.. and fortunately to each there own.

Feel your guy's pain, mine has fallen for the second time. I purchased the car with it down. Made the dealer repair it before picking it up at no cost of course. Looked good and when I got back from overseas it was laying on my head again. The local place want's 300 with a ten year gaurantee. I kinda laughed as it seems way to much. Time to start shopping around and take the car further to have it replaced.
