Shift Bezel keeps popping up, fix?
On my 2005 6 spped, the bezel that "snaps" into the console connected to the boot keeps popping up when shifting. I've tried to adjust the slider bar under the bezel (the front and back) but still no luck. Also tried to gently bend the plastic clips/tabs, but it still pops up when shifting. Anyone had any luck to get the bezel to lock down better?
I thought about replacing, came up with 0YB07XZAAA as a part number, not sure if thats it, but its to much.
Any suggestion on how to get the bezel to sit more snug and stop popping up?
Thanks
Scott

I've never heard of that complaint before! The entire frame around the shift (with the window switches in it) is easily removed - how 'bout pulling the whole thing up and gluing the boot to that frame?
Or......... using some good, sticky tape to adhere the boot to that frame on the underside?

This may be a stupid question, but are you sure it's in there right. It rounds up a bit towards the front. Also, do you keep the boot tucked down into/below the Bezel? My Bezel piece is broken, but never have problems with it. Maybe you need to break yours too...
Thanks guys for the replies.
Pizzaguy- yes, thats it, wth the window buttons. Double sided tape is not a bad idea, need to look at the clearance.
closer9- yeah, its in there correctly. I've had it on and off a number of times, routing wires and such, so I think the plastic tabs are probably weak. There is a metal bar the helps keep the console tied together, that cab be slightly adjusted back and forth with the two screws, but it hasn't help me. When you say broken, do you mean the tabs underneath are broken off?

If anything is rounded over you may be able to put some epoxy on the part and rebuild the sharp corners by filing the epoxy to a square shape. Rough up the plastic before applying any epoxy and let the epoxy set for a couple of days before attaching the plate again.
