It is almost impossible to find a day that is good for everyone. I think that if we just say "The Last Wednesday of every Month" they we will have the best chance of getting the most folk together as you know a year in advance at least that you can count on that day of the month. Mid-July is no good for me as I put on the Wolf's Head Motorcycle Tours & Rally http://www.wolfsheadrally.com and hardly have a moment free for the first few weeks of July.

So, I'll just say that I'll be at the Freight House parking lot the last Wednesday of the month, but if anyone wants to do another meet up somewhere else in the city they certainly can. Actually it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one in the western 'burbs as well.

So, I finally got my estimate from State Farm for the hail damage and it's just over $7,500. Now I need to find a reputable body shop to fix it. Can anyone recommend a good body shop around St. Louis Park, MN? I've done the google thing, but I'm hoping one of you can recommend a place that does top notch work. Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi 140.6, no help here, other than sympathy. I'm way too new to the area. Hope you get 'er fixed, take your time in finding a good shop!

Not sure of a good body shop in SLP. My friend is top notch in Mankato. Did Culpeppers Denali back a few years. Tri-stage that took abotu 12-15 coats of solids and candys if my memory serves me right and then only god knows how many coats of clear.

Thanks for the sympathy Sororonos! I just moved to SLP in April, so I don't know the MSP area at all!

Hey rcompart, what is the name of your friend's shop? I'm guessing that if he did Culpeppers Denali, he might be a little too top-notch for me, but I'd be interested in talking with him.

Wholly crap! $7500!! Ouch.

I've had work done at Barnett Chrysler's body shop in White Bear. They did right by me. Good luck.

The guys name is John Seiberg. He is super expensive but I guarantee it will be spot on perfect. He was able to perfectly match the paint texture if you will on an old vette that was originally painted in lacquer paint. If you can do that with a base clear, you're f'n good. I also have a friend that paints out of Nicollet and he'll do a really good job too but nothing you wouldn't be able to get out of someone here in the cities. Only place up here I have had anything done with was Hopkins Auto Body. I had them fix up some blemished notebook panels we were sending to Intel for ISS. The company that does our work out of Michigan wrapped them in wax paper and it reacted with the clear coat. If you do use him, he'll take really good care of you. We needed to ship those panels out that day and they buffed out and cleaned them up awesome in about an hour, hour and a half. The manager treated me wonderfully. Check them out if you have a chance. Wish you the best.

Walser Chrysler outsources their body work to Hopkins Auto Body.

Hey MN owners!!
It's been a crazy summer so far, I have been out of the loop for a while, working full time an owning a business doesn't leave time for much. Hope all of you had some time to meet up and do some cruisin!
I just missed that nasty hail storm that went through St. Louis Park, it chewed up my sister's roof pretty good and some of the neighbors windows etc. It was one day I was glad to be running late! Sorry to hear about your XFire 140.6.
I am sure it will be good as new soon.
Just wanted to see if there are any Mankato XFire owners here? I had to move to Mankato for my job and I was hoping there might be a few of us down here? I have only seen a black coupe and black roadster, and a blue roadster. I do get a lot of comments down here because there are so few, my fav so far is from a corvette guy (he has 3) that told me if I ever wanted to sell to let him know. And that he thought it was the sharpest looking car he has seen in a long time.
Anyway, let me know if there are any of you out there, we should plan a trip up to join the others in Stillwater or Tonka someday before the snow flies!!

On the way home today around 5:15pm, I saw a limited roadster with a license plate ending 290 driving North on 100. I tried to get his attention, but I am driving a Nissan Sentra while my Crossfire is getting fixed and he didn't notice me. Is this Crossfire owner on here?

The Minneapolis Cars and Coffee continues to grow. There's stuff there that I had no idea even existed in the Twin Cities, such as this CLS body-kitted to look like a...well, I'm not sure:

Lotus, Nobles, Vipers, Ferraris, Ford GTs, Mustangs, whatever floats your boat, they were there:

Here's the rest of the photos from the gallery.

Millions of dollars worth of cars ... probably much better than the MN Auto Show in terms of exotics.

I'm not sure what's schedule for September yet. Luis is the guy who has been putting this together.

Dang, it would have to be on the other side of the universe from me. 2-3 hours round trip from here through lousy Mpls & St. Paul traffic. Be nice if there were an event like this on the east side of the Ciddies.

Anybody going to meet this Wednesday night at the Freight house in Stillwater? Don't know if I can make 6:30 P.M., but maybe 7 or 7:30.

John

I'll try to get there about 6:45 or so. Hope to see some of you there.

Today I was out and about and stopped in at Denny Hecker's Cadillac in Stillwater. Took a $102,000 2008 Cadillac XLR-V out for a little spin. Man do I wish that engine were in my Crossfire. Imagine what this thing would be like with 443hp. I suspect they are still wiping the drool off the car, BUT not withstanding the fact that I only have the $89,000 asking price in my dreams, I will be sticking to my lovely red Crossfire Roadster. But it is fun to dream.
