Default My 2005 Crossfire convertible won't start

Hello everyone, I am new today in the Crossfire Forum and I currently live in Central Florida. I have a 2005 Crossfire that will not start now. We had a few problems with this before and found out (on-line) that it was a problem, most likely, with the RCM (relay control module.). We worked on that re-soldering and it did work. After finishing the job, we drove it on an hour and a half trip and everything was fine and got back home with no problems. Two days later, took it out again and it died on the road. Now it will not start again. UUggggg...Is there anyone out there, particularly in Central Florida that can help me? I love my little Crossfire and I want to get it out on the road again!!! HELP!!! Thank you so much for your help!!

I would buy a new RCM and send the old one to DJ for rebuild. Many times it is the relays that go bad.

I'm with "ZE", unless you have spent years in component-level electronic repair, and you have verified the output from the Engine Control Relay, etc. - I'd say it's still the RCM.

Keep in mind it CAN be the relay itself, not the solder.

That's the approach I used when I had the "no start" condition. Fortunately, it raised its ugly head while sitting in my driveway.

After all this time I tend to think we have more relay failures than dry solder joints.

I tend to agree, in fact, I think the RCMs have aged (my new persona will be "Captain Obvious") - and that the relay failure rate has gone way up.

Nothing lasts forever, I can attest to that.
