Default Advice, loving this car...

Hello everyone,

First of all, excuse my english, I'm from Spain. It's a pleasure to be here, I've been reading these forums for a while and you are all so kind, nice community here with the XF.

I'm owner of a new MB, but I want a second car for weekends and having fun. I know XF is not a very powered car but it sounds fantastic and in my opinion it looks really good, so classy and "old school" sport car.

Here in Spain you can find some XF cars 3.2 V6 for 7.000-9.000€, do you think is a fair price for 100-120k miles?

By the way, any advice if getting one apart of from going to a mechanic to check it... I guess someone from MB.

Thanks!!

We don't know prices in the EU, not those of us in the USA. Here, we are seeing prices for low-to-medium mileage cars go for $8000-$12,000usd. This is up from three years ago.
SRTs are a few thousand more.

As to issues, the Crossfire comes with NO factory support, getting service or repairs can be troublesome here in the USA and I am sure it's the same in the EU. If you are a "car guy" and do a lot of work yourself, the Crossfire can be a fun hobby, but if you rely on dealer or garage support, it can be expensive and difficult to get running when problems arise. MOST issues can be resolved faster by checking in with us.

Well here in the UK, I found quite alot of Crossfires I went to view, suffered considerable wheel arch rust. Due to the climate (plus winter salt spreading) we have here.
There are some other rust prone areas around the car you can read about on the Forum. But certainly worth considering plus looking out for.

There are also some 'characteristic' mechanical problems, detailed around the forum and in the Guides, that can be fairly easily rectified if you have some compentency working on cars. Or even replace these items as preventative maintenance... RCM, a couple of engine sensors, etc - each of which can result in the engine not running / starting.

I didn’t understand your last sentence........, “By the way, any advice if getting one apart of from going to a mechanic to check it... I guess someone from MB.”

Get the car inspected by someone experienced. Knowing what gremlins might be lurking can guide your counteroffer, as an informed buyer usually gets good value................after the inspection get the mechanics findings to this Forum for further advice.
