I will probably take the rubber let me know how much once it's available

Go to tirerack.com, I got one of the sport collection, but they have some with black spokes, might look nice

Airscape, Autozone has a Mobil 1 oil change special, 5 qts & filter for $30. But they don't have Mobil 1 filter for our cars.

Thanks for the tip. Still have to get her into the dealer (-300miles) now hopefully I can schedule for later this week. Hope to have a flood of parts ordered soon so I'll be busy trying to get all those on. Backordered cleaning supplies just showed up as well so maybe a buff this weekend or the next. Porter cable will be free after that.

Also anybody see that 06 alabaster roadster at Radley with a 21k$ poster on the side? I havnt taken a close look but it better have 0 miles on it or it will be sitting there for a while. I have seen some SRTs with < 20000 miles for much less.

I haven't been to 1 show this year, and thereforre havn't cleand the car at all. Util my hours at work change, it's gonna stay that way.

I saw that car ar Radley, but not the price, if it's clean somebody will buy it. I saw an alabaster coupe in CP on Tuesday, and got a wave from the driver (I think it was a woman, but I only caught a glimpse).

Still looking to setup a Fred XF GTG on a saturday or Sunday in June, you all let me know when would be a good time. I have to work on the 18th, but I free on the 19th.

We can either go for a little drive somewhere, or justs GTG and go an fill up the parking lot of some restaurant. When we do I would like to talk to you all about getting all of the local cars in the Fredericksburg Christmas Parade.

Put in some wrench time over the long weekend. Didn't have enough time left for a buffing so it's still a bit water spotty and swirly but some quick pics from last night.

Looks better than mine, I like the wheels!

I drove mine to work today (gorgeous day) and needless to say i-95 does not make a car clean. No time to show it, so I havn't bothered. not working next weekend, so I will probably wash polish and wax (the whole nine yards). also one of my driving lights popped off, so I need to get into it with some crazy glue.

It would be nice to have a Fred area GTG, you all need to post HERE if you are interested.

Much thanks, the fit is perfect and with the drop from the eibachs they look pretty mean.

Sorry to hear that, injury is no fun. Hopefully it will be a speedy recovery (or not, depending on how much you like/need your work )

Would like to get in on a get together, with being on call all the time there really is no "good" time for me but if it's happening I will try to make an appearance for sure. Maybe we could hit that Saturday show that was posted here? Will be trying to go to the Chrysler nationals next month but other than that nothing planned.

I had to work sat, and so I didn't even get to clean the car this weekend. I did move the car out in the driveway in Sunday =) so I could cut some wood in the garage/shop.

One of these days

I am free either the 16th or 23rd. The 16th is the Orange Cruise-In. We could just meet up there. What were your ideas for a GTG?
Who will be at Carlisle? I will be there if I am recovered enough from my surgery.

Orange sounds like fun - I will run it by the family

I am not going to Carlisle, I have a High School reunion to go to. I am looking for a ride for my wife to the fall Dragon. I havn't perfected the rumble seat Mod quite yet, so I need to get 3 people there in a 2 seat'er.

Have y'all thought about a fall GTG yet? I've been following this for awhile but since I've been laid up or out of town I didn't post. I finally get my cast off this week, and will be able to drive in a couple of months.

Thx,

Keep unsubscribing instead of following the link. Anyway been quiet in here for a while. I just picked up a new RCM as I had a "mystery no start" the other day. No problems since but figured better safe than sorry. If anyone local is having RCM issues I'll have a local spare that should be good enough to keep anyone on the road until a replacement/repair is ready.

Also anyone have any suggestions for alignment/wheel work local. I usually just go to NTB or some other random big box place. Prefer to give money to smaller shops that do good work if possible.

Thanks.

Last time I posted in this thread I was still in college driving my SSB around Fredericksburg. I had intended to make it out to one of the warm weather "shows" at the BBQ on Route 1 but never made it. I moved to a Mercedes C55 AMG but subsequently it was totaled . Now back in the Crossfire world with an SRT6 (I couldn't stay away). Living up in NoVA there is no Crossfire community (that I am aware of) unfortunately. Kicking myself for not getting out to more GTGs while I was living in Fred.

To answer your question about auto shops, Airscape, I was impressed with the operation at Express Auto Service on Route 1 (located at 2201 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401). I never have taken my car there for work, but had my cars inspected there and was impressed with the knowledge of the employees. It is a locally owned Mom and Pop shop as far as I am aware that has a franchise through NAPA and is AAA approved. They are pretty scrutinizing on the safety inspection (failed my girlfriends car for the rear rotors on her Volvo being below safe levels), but I think they do good work based on 4.5 stars on Google reviews out of 25 ratings.

With regards to your alignment, before I sold my Limited I looked into having a re-alignment done as I was getting uneven wear on the inside of my rear tires (which is a common problem with these cars). You may want to call around a number of shops first because many of them will tell you they don't have the tools to do the alignment. Perhaps look into a independent Mercedes mechanic or call up the Mercedes dealership service center there in town and tell them you have an R170 SLK , see if they will do the work.

Grats on the SRT and thanks for the response. I have been to express before but like you just for inspection work. You are correct on the work although they may be a liiiitle to strict in some regards. Merc dealer is a no go they will sell me parts all day long but won't even touch her for general maintenance.

Basically now that I have the Mandrus wheels I have 2 sets of the OG limiteds (winter/summer) want to take all 8 to a shop have them all checked for roundness/damage and create 1 good set for the winter tires. Will see how bad the alignment feels after installing and get an alignment if needed. Will prob need another when switching back to the Mandrus once it warms up again.

Thinking hard on the turbo group buy, won't quite get to SRT power but should be enough for sleeper status and I get to keep the 6spd.

I take my SRT to Rick over at Eurotech; he's an award winning Merc/Volvo tech that now has his own shop off of Rt. 1, by the airport exit. His # is 657-1007.
I started taking my S over to him years ago after being robbed by the local MB dealer and he treated me wonderfully - told me how to test/fix the heater blower for ~$140; dealer wanted over $500 just for the part!
He hadn't worked on an SRT before I bought mine, but was willing since it is the same as the C32. I have had nothing but great experiences there.
I was told that Express has one of the Crossfire factory certified mechanics from Safford D/C/P working there now, but I can't remember his name.
For the tires you may have to take them to the tire shop over on Rt 208/Spotsy Courthouse Road (next to the DQ @ 4 Mile Fork); Rick does not have the equipment for our tires, but I was sent to these guys when I had weird balance issues on the Benz, and they diagnosed it.

It seems the NOVA group "died" sometime in early 2012.

I use Curry's Auto in Gainesville. I don't know if they have a location that far south.
