Crossfires of Maryland (COM)
everyone is fine up in Street Md never lost power Dogs were freaking out. See you in PA hope they have power for the weekend.
Power came back Saturday evening, no damage to my house/property, but neighbors lost a few trees. Rockville, Potomac, Bethesda traffic lights a problem all weekend.
Met with Patpur and Pat at Burtonsville Sunday morning, all is fine with them as well.
See you all at Carlisle (whoever is attending)

Still on vacation until tomorrow morning. Our house is supposidly OK according to the neighbors. Power was only off for a little while. Neighbors house caught fire from lightning strike. Still uninhabitable. Parents power was out until late Wednesday. Hope to come back to a house is good condition upon return.
Just ordered my Eurocharged Tune today. Wish me luck. It's supposed to add about 25 bhp, about 25 ft lbs of torque and raise the limiter to 200mph (not that this car can nor would ever see anywhere near that speed). The "george" sale is still active. It brought the cost down from about $500 to $215 including shipping (I didn't by the cable.......my buddy has one). Not sure what time I'll have it scheduled but I figured I'd get in on the cost savings and try this out. I suppose I could always reflash back to stock but I'm hoping this goes smoothly and I'm looking forward to see how the cars performance increases compares to stock.
We should all check in on the show planning soon to make sure all things people committed to are being prepared for...............

Got back from Carlisle this afternoon. had a BLAST!! It was great to see and spend time with everyone. The maryland crew filled up the show field and hotel, so that was great to see. Looks like we will have FIAT at our show in august...............just waiting on hearing from Mother Mopar about our show.
Carlisle was great - realyy really hot but great to see everyone!
I cant believe its only 4 weeks till our show, so I was just curious if the leaders were feeling comfortable about all the plans or do we need to touch base so we don't show up looking like Abbott and Costello on August 11th. I am ordering a ballot box and will add some signs to it for the voting...not sure if there is anything else I need to do, but let me know,
I heard from a couple of you this weekend that there is no food at the location...we can bring our own lunches I just hope that doesn't put people off from hanging around.
I don't attend a lot of these shows so maybe this is the norm - who knows. I just now I need access to food at feeding time

ive got some thngs now coming up between now and august. July 14, 15, 28, 29 are no good for me. that only leaves a few weekends for me to get together with you guys. We do need to get together and do our last minute discussions, and goodie bag stuffing. I sent our trophy and dash plaque artwork to Andrew on monday, I might have send everything to a bad email address when it first sent everything in june. the Fiat guy didnt call me yesterday. I'll give him a few days ant then I'll call him. Ive got his number somewhere. I just need to find it. just keep watching the forums, once we all get settled after Carlisle I'll figure out something.
Is it possible to utilize a "local vendor" who may be willing to setup (drive up) a venue for food? Just a thought!

I'm going to do a final mock up of the show car area layout based on the owners suggestion. I'm also going to begin to make some signs (as I committed to).
The winery has the wine tasting tickets they are providing which also has a tear-off for a future discount.
Where are we with music? DJ or can we just get a decent sound system and hook up an IPOD with some music? I have an old stereo I can bring if necessary.
As far as food, they have cheese and crackers for purchase but not really any other food. Bring a cooler with some food to hold off the urges.........
Wyatt, wheres the summary list of commitments and a status update?
Other items:
Coolers and Ice
Water (if everyone picked up a $2.50 case of water bottles...)
Pop-ups for shade
Etc.
How about July 21. Host a conference call or meeting to make sure everything is on track and no loose ends. Make sure everyone who has a task / action item is going to make sure it's done.

DJ is going to be too expensive for now.
I'll bring a cooler, water, ice and a pop up to be used by our club members.
most car shows that have food available for sale mention something about it on the flyer. since we did not mention it on our flyer, most car show veterans will know they need to bring their own snacks. Since we will be down there all day i suggest everyone bring supplies. the nearest fast food place and gas station are about 15-20 minutes away.
That weekend is fine with me. we need a large area, this time. I should have most if not all the goodie bag stuff in by then so we can start stuffing the goodie bags.

People can way in on stereos, speakers etc., but it nothing else, I'll bring one.
I can bring a cooler and water as well. I want to buy a pop-up but .....I may not get around to it until later.
I have a draft mock-up of the show area and property. I'll refine it an scan soon. Bottom line, I think we can fit between 90 and100 cars in the space they suggest (average row would have 8 cars with space for about 12 rows - based on rough calculations of average car width and length with min of 5 feet between cars on each side in the rows and 10 feet inbetween cars in each row (10 feet in front and 10 feet in back.
UPDATE: I'll check on food vendor allowance at the winery.
we are going to sell water at the show. that money will be used for the club. so we need to have coolers available to the general people and one that can be used for just us. I have two pop ups, one good that i just used at carlise and one that broke a couple of weeks ago. it still works fine, its just a pain in the @ss to put up. i'll bring both. See if the winery wants to supply sandwiches or something. they can keep everything in the tasting room, charge a little something for the sandwiches or "free sandwich with every bottle of wine" i dont know just an idea for them. Subway caters but that costs money that we dont have yet.
thats fine on the layout, just remember not to make it too tight. I've been focusing on bringing classics to our show, and some of them dont have power steering. the overall length of my Plymouth is 210 inches and the width is 79 inches. the classics and truck/van area will need a little more room.
As of right now lets say 10am Saturday July 21st Burtonsville cruise lot. there is outdoor seating at starbucks. we can finalize the show and stuff goodie bags. This is just an idea, if anyone has other ideas please let us know.

I saw my neighbor (winery owner) last evening. I asked about food vendors and he said fine. I'm going to check in with Jessica at the winery first and see if she has someone in mind that would be willing to come on site and take advantage of the show draw. If not, I think we are OK with getting someone ourselfs. Basic premise is, it's their gig, simple food items etc. and what ever they make they keep. Sole intent on this is so people have an option for food, especially if they didn't bring a picnic.
There is no better Chilli Cheese Dog around.
Address is
7918 Ritchie Hwy
Glen Burnie, MD

Ann'a chilli dogs are the best!!!
I got a call from a lady asking about food vendors at our show. she saw our information on a website and called me. she makes snacks and sweets. everything is made and packaged off site and then sold at the show. she bakes cakes, dips them in chocolate and caramel then puts them on a stick, she also does fruits the same way. she said she is self contained and sets up her canopy and off she goes. she also knows a lady who has a food truck. the other lady does wings, pulled pork and other sandwiches. they usually go to car shows and fairs together. they are both insured up to 1mil each. What do you guys think? just have them pay the entry fee and what they make they keep?
