Default Hoosier

Has anyone tried 295/30/19 Hoosiers on the rear of their crossfire? Thanks.

I have been running them since April on the back of my car. I think the new 265/35/19 is a better size though since you are limited to a 245 on the fronts due to available space.

What advantage do you anticipate from 265s in place of the 295s? Thanks.

Same height with less rotating mass and unless you are planning on screwing with the fenders on the front of the car to fit bigger than a 245 you will be driving around understeer constantly. I have set my car up to work with the 295s and it is fast but I think it is faster on the smaller tires. I am not sure what you are looking for? If you are autocrossing in stock class than run 245/35/18s in the front and 265/35/19 in the rear or you could run the 235/35/19 which is ironically just as wide as the 265 but a bit shorter.

I am autocrossing and SRT-6. I have Kuhmo 245/30/18 fronts and Pilot Cup Sport 265/35/19 rears. The car will turn in well but breaks the rear loose with even timmid use of the throttle. Your using 295/19 Hoosiers, who makes 265 and 235/19 race rubber?

Thanks.

All the tire sizes I mentioned are made by Hoosier. With the SRT-6 you might want to stick with the 295 as it does put more tire down to the ground. Just keep in mind that in the quest to get the power down better you will pick up understeer in any steady state corner unless you have Koni adjustable shocks like I do to help tune it out. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your help. I think that the 295/19s are in my future. I like the Koni Yellow Adjustables, I have used them on other Autocross cars in the past. Does the Koni shocks/struts for the crossfire come with both bounce and rebound independent adjustments, or just one adjustment. I must admit that the stock SRT-6 suspension works better then I expected.

The Koni adjustables comes with only rebound adjustment but that is fine. Your SRT springs are stiffer and lower than the base coupe like I have. Get your self a pair of the factory camber adjustment bolts as they are stock legal and have the car aligned to remove most if not all of the rear toe in and you will have a car that handles pretty well. I would love to find someone that wants to build an A stock SRT6 locally so I could drive it and see how it would fair since you have a stiffer suspension and will be able to get more camber. I know Nocones and myself both have in the area of -1.8 negative camber in the front.

I should have the car figured out for the summer season. I'm in Norfolk Virginia, if we wind up at an event at the same time I would be happy to provide you some seat time. Would you mind sharing your suspension settings as a starting point? Thanks.
