Noticed that not only is there US129, but using US74 on the SE end of
the Dragon, you can go north a short ways and pick up 28 to come back
to the Dragon on the NW end. 28, it self, looks to be nearly as twisty
as is US129. In fact, this seems to make a rather nice loop that could be
traveled rally style for time. That is, if I'm looking at the right section of
US129. Coyote
Yup, that is correct. That is a Very Big loop using 28 to 74 back to 68 in Tn & up to a number of options. Yes that is a Great Loop, I've been on all of it & sections of it, Many times over the last 15 years. It would be 150 miles+ or more depending on your way around on the North portion, by the Actual Tail of the Dragon. 74/64 goes right thru Murphy, & along Whitewater Rafting, etc, Beautiful drives, All of them.

SF

BTW: This is one of the many Beautiful Waterfalls in the Area, on the Cherohala Parkway, nearby. (one of my pics).

Thank you for your interest from South Carolina!.

I'm thinking of Sat/Sun Nov 10th & 11th (The USMC BD & Veterans Day, by coincidence) this year, as I'm gone at Sea for the month of Oct this year? Next year we would move it up a few weeks to the third weekend of October, I think?

This year's Rally would be a Trial Run of at least 25+ Crossfires, & a lot more, (well over 100) for year two, as this becomes an Annual USA Crossfire Rally.

Are all my earlier above commitments still on board & any suggestions?
(I'm sorry, I can't do Oct this year, you could run it without me).

Please let me know, & let's get this date set Now, OK?

My Best!
Bill (SF)

Looks like you got a following for this event. Suggest that you put a list up on this thread so people know who's in. Anyone local to the event? Please post up possible hotels for those who are traveling and would like to stay together the night before and or after.

Sounds like fun.

Hey Senna,
Look like we have about 15 "ins" so far, 25+ should be no problem, once we're sure of the date & everyone can check their Calendar!
Thank you for the suggestions, will do!

I've been known to "Drive a little, to Swerve alot" in my day. The Tail of the Dragon has been in the back of my mind ever since Aero Blue spoke so highly of it awhile back.
Has a hotel been suggested where we could all meet up?
This sounds like something I'd like to get in on. It's always good to hook up with other Crossfire enthusiasts.

Thanks for your Commitment, our first from Ohio! I like your Quote: "Drive a little, to Swerve a lot" , maybe we could use that as a byline for the Annual Rally?
No Hotel yet, it could be any of a Dozen smaller towns in TN or NC, or Maybe Knoxville, the nearest City of any size?
We will firm that up in the next week or two at the most, if everyone would like to meet up at a Specific Hotel, although the larger ones would be an hours drive on either the NC or TN side. Maybe we can find a good sized one on each side to meet up, depending on which side you are coming in from?

Bill (SF)

Update: You can probably cross-off Knoxville, as Tennessee Plays Arkansas at Home on Sat 11/10? :+(
