Replaced the tank this morning. Took pics -- will create a "how to" thread sometime/day soon.

Edit/update for future readers: Here's that how-to thread

I could swear I read a post stating that a hose had come loose, causing the leak. But after taking the fender well apart, the problem was determined to be the same crack mentioned above (where the tank is bolted to the frame).
I don't mean to be one to gripe, but man, this seems to be a stupid problem that could have been easily resolved in manufacturing. I only have 46k miles on my '05. I had the stuck ignition problem a few months ago where the ignition lock and housing had to be replaced. Then the headliner started coming loose and falling down...

Hmmm ... link didn't work, even after editing. Here's another try:

Thanks for the link. Aren't digital pictures awesome! They make understanding so much easier.
BTW, do you think the cracked tank is repairable? It would seem that you would have the same chance of another leak going with a new tank.

Poyethylene, I'd guess (should be marked), so no. New one from OE Discount wasn't too dear. Note the added fender washer I used to help spread the load.

Good point about the washer. That is exactly where my leak is coming from. What is the washer supporting, the pump?

No, it's the mounting point for the tank -- it's to spread the tank's weight out more evenly over more area.

PE can be repaired by welding a PE filler rod into the crack with a small blow torch flame. It probably takes a little skill though.
