BUT, I'd bet you & I, Jeff, can come up with a donut holder that we can then place into aforementioned cup holder! We patent it, market it & voila', retire early!!!

Oh yeah, that's right, the original post..........ummmmm.......I'm at a loss.

A short Power antenna should work well.

You know - I've been driving cars for quite a few years (like 40)- and I have only had one flat tire that was NOT caused by my own stupidity - so the odds are pretty damm good you won't see one.- at least any more than you might see another technical problem that would shut you down.

Exclamation Re: Spare tire location

Hey just to prove you wrong I am actually driving the car today - as I don't imagine the chances of getting a flat in the garage are that great- so I am keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of the day I will let you know if anything happens.
Hey you don't know Mike Hollenbeck do you??

Design teams justification for no spare. "Crossfire carries no spare tyre as statistics show that drivers will suffer a puncture only once in every 150,000 km of motoring. To deal with a flat, Crossfire is equipped with a TIREFIT service kit - a can of pressurised tyre sealant and an electric compressor to re-inflate the tyre." Check this article. Chrysler Crossfire

Well, just call me unlucky, I had two flats in the first 4,000 kilometers none since though. Mind you I have only done 22,500 k (14,000 miles) total. I guess I am OK for nearly 300,000 more.

Having had two flats in 6K miles, my first one week after purchaseI like this notion of karmic puncture credits.

On the bright side, since the stock Contis were on national back order, and I wanted a matched set of tires, I bought some Nitto Invos - best mod I could've done since I had no idea just how much those Conti's sucked!

I'v been driving 31 years. I can count up 620,000 miles in my head, just by adding up the final mileages on the last three pickups and last three company vans. In that time, I have had ONE tire instantly deflate. I was going down a rural road and a front tire picked up a sharg piece of metal and flung it at the rear tire. It cut a slit 3 inches long and INSTANTLY defalted the tire.

The other times I changed a tire was to put the spare on so I could drop the bad tire off for repair and keep running around - it was NOT cause I had a "Flat". Of course, in the last 6 or 7 years, I'v been plugging my tires at home myself. Saves time and money.

The Michelins are a much better, and more expensive, tire than the Conti's.

Chrysler just sold them as an "upgrade".
Want to bet most came equipped with the Conti's?

Yeah, them guys at chrysler suck. They take the michelins, swap the conti's in, then sell the michelins to someone else or put em on their higher priced cars and we paid for the costs associated with them taking our higher performance and better tires... Shrewd, them fekkers.....

Yeah those 18" and 19" tires are real movers from the parts department.
Many cars come with various tires, the makers bid on a contract to supply them. Have the right price at the right time and you get the contract for `x' number of tires.
Spending time to buy tires and swap them out is hardly worth the effort. Putting tires on a car and forgetting to change the makers pamphlet in the owners package would really look stupid.
I have the Conti's they are just fine with me for now.

Hi, this is late in coming to your question. I have found a wheel that fits the Crossfire as a compact spare. I've tried it. Front wheel mount would need just a touch grinding or use of a spacer also I found. The wheel that fits comes from a 2008 Saturn Astra with 16" rims. Now it's no where near the same size overall diameter as original but as a compact spare it fits in the back taking up about 6 1/4 inches. The Astra rim is 5x112mm the center hole is a bit larger and the spacers i ordered are for Mercedes 5x112 15mm thick ea. Using maybe just one or both would allow use of full length lug bolts. I'm haven't done it yet but will mount the spacers via a small screw to the spare wheel. I do not like the idea of no spare. What the heck were the designers thinking. Certainly not crossing Death Valley w/o a spare.

I just found this old post of mine from September 2009, now I am at 39,500 miles and no punctures since those two times. Naturally I am taking a big risk in saying that.

What happened to the guy that started this thread. Must have scared him off. Just a quick note: I purchased a spare from a MB
That will get you home. Works on front and rear. Got a vinyl cover to put over it. Never think about it.

That and the cupholder are about the only things I don't like about this car.
