Default Skreem part number?

I'm sure many of you will love my FIRST post in that it involves the "SKREEM", of which from my reading, almost all have a had a problem with theirs. :-) Does anyone have the actual part number for the "skreem"? I have read through pages and pages and come up with nothing. Well, that's not true.I did find two numbers, one Chrysler and one MB, that led me to the door lock module, which is located in our doors. Basically a $150 part. If I can get the module, I have found a local guy who will come to me and recode the new SKREEM to my car. He comes highly recommeded and is familiar with the XF.. I have read in a post or two that some have managed to retain their SKREEM units after replacement. Hopefully they will read this post and let us know. We need this number on out "replacement parts" list. Even though this is my first post, many have been helpful to me as I "Lurked" . Thanks, Norm. :-)

If you have a guy who can do this, I would be surprised - and very happy to hear it. This is a job that dealers (lately anyway) have screwed up!

I have no idea how to come up with the part number and I'm also thinking that a dealer is going to stand in your way of doing ANYTHING without them!

Chrysler says the "Skreem Module", part 5099541AA has failed. The engine turned over one time did not catch and then nothing. Dash lights, cabin light, horn, all on, no one home, nothing. They say its $189 for the part, must be programmed specific to vin/vehicle. Yet, further pursuit of info, another parts dept says this is a door module, Chrysler itself called it a "Wireless Receiver". Does anyone know if any Skreem module can be (re) programmed to function in any Crossfire once it is programmed and does the dealer program the module? Another part dept pursuit is that this is considered an exchange part, meaning the original must be returned and a reprogrammed one will appear 1 to 2 weeks later. WTF, 2 weeks for a Chrysler part? Is this possible? Anyone have some current leads to this Skreem module and info regarding programming? Thanks to all who respond.

Hello BisB; You have the right part No. that worked foe me. But it is not located in the door its behind gauges in dash. I don't know why its called door module. Also need to clarify when I did mine mechanic said some will work others need to be programmed, I got lucky. Also getting someone to sell to me was frustrating Mercedes wants nothing to do with this problem unless its a Mercedes. If Chrysler says that module will work at least they've pointed you in right direction, Hopefully. Good Luck
