OK , I got the T5 chips today. Cloned it , looks like the same code as original , but won't start the car. There is obviously something missing? When I try to start the car, it either won't engage the starter, or it tries to start for a couple of seconds then dies. There in no warning message or other indication of a problem on the dash display.

Soooo . . . Do you have another thought or are you stumped? There was a guy located in Canada (I think the guy to told us about the Zed-Bull and the virgin transponder chips). He seemed to know "his stuff". Let me try to locate the information so we can contact him. I'm thinking we need to bring him up to speed on the history of your efforts to date and see if he can offer any advice . . . There are so many recent similar but different threads about this (since the cost of getting a duplicate key shot up) that it may take me a while to find the guy. Seeking help if you know who I'm trying to find . . .

Hi RED DOG,
To answer your questions, there are at least 40 different kinds of transponder chips, each make and model and year range has specific Immobilizer systems that require specific transponder chips. Don't ask me to list them as there are many but a google search will give you a good idea.
As for how to identify the different chips, the writings on the ceramic transponder can identify it. Other cases where there are no writings, you require a transponder reader and knowledge to know the type of chips they are.
As for creating new keys via SKREEM module, advanced expertise is required to be able to do that job and we have that in house if ever needed. Cloning/Repairing Computer Modules is also part of our in house services. This is open to the crossfire community.
Cheers
OK This is the guy I was looking to find. See post #6 on this tread. Thinking we need to solicit his advice. I am not literate enough to discuss this intelligently with him. Hoping one you that has made some attempt to clone a working chip using the Zed-Bull can contact him to help figure out the missing puzzle piece.
RED DOG - There is a fellow in Canada and I think he is a member of this forum. I want to say his company is called "Auto Key Pro", but I'm not 100%sure on that. You might want to give it a try.

Yes I'm stumped. It should work, but it doesn't. I even had a locksmith shop clone a chip for me. He wasn't sure it would work. It didn't , same result as my efforts. There must be something encrypted in the factory chips that we don't see. I have 2 working keys, so this was just an experiment for me. Maybe someone else will figure it out.
Hi, found this interesting ebay listing. looks like they can make a key for a Crossfire if you send in your skreem unit. Price is $170 plus $10 shipping. After you get the key from them you could probably take the transponder chip out and put it in a remote fob if you wanted. This also tells me there must be some way yo read the skreem code and program it to the chip. On there website, looks like you can get two keys for $199 plus shipping. Keep in mind you'll still have to cut the key blanks.
With the security system we have, has any aftermarket company made remote starts for the crossfire? If so, the security system would have to be bypassed? Just a thought.
This is the response I got when I questioned them about cloning ,
"There is no such things as cloning this type of transponder because it uses a rolling code and every time you turn key in the ignition the code will change so if you clone it then the other key will stop working next time you turn it in the ignition. The only way is by programming chip directly to the immobox "

Yea, a young guy brought me his crossfire back in 2014 because he wanted the remote start removed. The car was an abortion.
Thye'd taken the RFID chip from the key fob and taped it to the ring. Then, then moved the ring back inside the dash.
They removed the ignition switch assembly entirely (no steering lock) and wired the ignition harness to the remote start module.
What a mess... I wanted nothing to do with it.

$170 and the form states that they are not responsible for the SKREEM unit's functionality.
So you are going to rip the SKREEM from the car and send it to them - and for $170 you get a key (uncut) and your SKREEM back that, if it does not work, is not their problem? So if the SKREEM comes back bad, you then end up buying a SKREEM from Rob for whatever the price - and you STILL need a new key.
Sounds like a deal to me.
GO ahead, READ the order form that you are required to SIGN.
Well, according to the Viper Remote's web site, 'remote starts' are available for the Crossfire. Unfortunately no installation manuals are available for DL, only user's guides. I would be curious how they make it work without doing a butcher job.

I've got the Viper/Clifford remote start on my 2005 convertible. It was installed by one of the previous owners and I received ZERO documentation for it when I got the car two years ago. I've got the special remote fob for the system. Last year, I studied the manuals that I downloaded and attempted to use the remote starting system. I got close to getting it to work...although it's a convoluted system that requires "arming" the system since remote starting a manual transmission adds to the complexity. However, after one attempt to remote start ended in all of my dashboard warning lights coming on...I stopped testing it. It took me a little effort just to clear everything and get the car back to normal. Maybe this summer I'll try to test it again or start trying to remove it from the car.
Anyway, back to the question....this remote start system will start the car but you can't drive it unless the key is in the ignition and it is turned on. So, it doesn't appear to completely bypass the SKREEM. BUT they must have done something to bypass the SKREEM since theoretically, the car will start with the remote start. To drive it away, you need to enter the car with the key. So how did they do that?
For what it's worth, here are the manuals that I've downloaded for the Viper/Clifford system. download manuals

I expect the chip has to be attached close to the halo all the time.
And the latest batch of 7930s are on the way (postal service lost the first batch). Have determined that 7931 and 7935s do not work - am suspecting the checksum includes the model number.
