BILLET aluminum oil filter cap
Has anyone tried this Weistec M113 billet aluminum oil filter cap? https://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/wei...152738069.html It says "designed for use with Mercedes filter stalk A 112 180 07 10" which is the one used by our car. Does the long, plastic inner pressure-bypass "shaft" snap into this metal cap the same as on a BMW? I wish someone made a COMPLETELY aluminum replacement upgrade aftermarket part like they do for BMW's, like this one: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-uro-prem...27525334prm~u/ where even the inner pressure-bypass "cage" is aluminum.
Here's the part number for the BLACK cap too, in case anyone is in dire need of parting with $150. I mean, in reality they're almost giving them away, right? 😢 https://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/wei...152738068.html
The Billet Oil Filter Cap is installed in the exact same manner as the OEM cap, using the same O-Ring that comes supplied with new oil filters.

Hmmm, lets see... According to the pictures, that assembly doesn't look like our 'assembled' oil filter assembly. Does anyone really want to spend all that money to find out it doesn't? If it doesn't, I wonder how much time and postage you'll have to waste. BTW, bling seems to weigh more, and from a 'horsepower' freaks website..... Hmmmmmm...

Hmmmmmm where do we start with this.Firstly Weistec is a top of the line boutique parts maker for BMW MB and Mclarins.I have never purchased anything from them but I do buy a lot of CNC stuff for my motorcycles from similar companies. What I have found is don't go buy the illustrations shown with the part you want. You will receive the correct part that was made for your car, they cannot show every application for each part so a generic pic is used. The quality is amazing. Most of these small American business' doing CNC parts are started by gear heads with a passion for our sport. The fact that WEISTEC makes something that will fit a Crossfire shows how special our cars are.I will be purchasing the filter assembly in red if for no other reason it just looks cool.

I haven't been to Hiawassee, GA in over 30 years. My parents had a Summer place there way back in the 1980's. There used to be a weekly newspaper called 'Up Tusquittee'. You couldn't get a TV station unless your place was near the top of a mountain and so the VCR tape rental store (NOT a chain store!) did a brisk business.
