Default SRT-6 EGR Valve / Transducer Location

I've spent a few hours searching and not getting anywhere trying to find exactly where the EGR valves and transducer are on an SRT-6, I even found some old thread with a coupe of folks saying the SRT-6 doesn't have EGR? I've also looked in service manual that doesn't show any indication where it is or if NA/SC are different
I had the MIL on and code "Y31/1 (EGR vacuum transducer) (P0403) Short circuit to positive" - I'm guessing faulty solenoid if I could just find where it is located on the SRT. I would be very grateful for any insight please.

The SRT6 does NOT have an ERG valve!
Are there any other codes?? Why did you scan the car: what symptoms/problems are you having?
Clear that code and any others. Drive the car and see if that code comes back.
The EGR valve on an NA is located behind the right bank cylinders. It is easily see with the engine cover removed.

Thanks for confirming that. Early December had code "P2007-008 b28 pressure sensor", cleared that and it didn't come back. Last week the engine light came on again and I'm getting this EGR code (which I've now cleared). Car seems to be running fine.

Hello, really need some help. I have an 2005 SRT-6 - and codes PO401 and PO402 are coming up.
Rough idle, using lot of gas, and stalled once at startup. Seeing posts that say there is no EGR valve?
Having REAL TROUBLE finding a mechanic that will even look at my car. Chrysler dealership where I bought it won't work on it
and the Mercedes places they suggested tell me to go to Chrysler. It's been an absolute nightmare.
Also seeing post that say the SRT-6 has no EGR valve?

I'm really in the woods on this.

PLEASE HELP? and many thanks.
Atlanta, Georgia area.

Well without looking up the codes I would say crankshaft position sensor.

Many thanks. But just stalled once at start up the other day.
Seeing posts that say the SRT-6 doesn't have an EGR valve? Is that your understanding as well?
Codes PO401 and PO402 seem to deal with exhaust re-burning?
Maybe those left and right smog pumps?
Crap shoot guessing game for me.
IF there is an EGR valve, I can't find it.

The best thing to do is to look at the DTC list, sure takes the guesswork out of this:

SRTs do not have EGRs. For those of us who do have them, the symptoms are:

EGR stuck closed: Better performance, less throttle delay, higher NOX emissions.
EGR stuck open: Rough idle, less performance at all throttle settings, lower NOX emissions.

I've had issues with the EGR in the Graphite Roadster, mine stuck closed, car ran so much better, I put an EGR disable switch in the graphite and also have one in the SE.
Given that the SRT6 does not have an EGR, I am questioning just why you would get these codes. Are you SURE the codes are not P102 and P104?

Hey, many thanks,

Just ran it again and the code that come up is PO410.
But, I was sure that the codes that come up before were PO401 and 402.

Check the fuse first on the air pump?
I really appreciate your help.

THere is no fuse ON the air pump, it's on the RCM and it is not the problem. (Check it, but if it is blown, you need a new airpump.)
GENERALLY, this is caused by fractured solder joints on the RCM board, but it can also be an open air pump relay coil on the RCM. As a last resort, the air pump motor may be bad, in which case you need a new air pump.

@tighed1 offers a really good RCM refurbish service, you can email him at tighed1@hotmail.com to get the particulars. Until you get hold of him, just put your spare RCM in.

Don't have a spare RCM in the trunk? Why not? Just wait till the engine control relay dies - you will be calling for a tow home then. I ordered a new RCM and sent my bad one to DJ. I now have all I need in the trunk: Spare idler pulley, spare belt, spare crank sensor and spare RCM. All those items fail, generally before 100,000 miles. I won't drive the car without them, not anymore, that is.

Under certain conditions the air pump can be repaired, or depending on the State smog laws you can disconnect it and sail on with your wallet untouched.

Hey - thanks for the info. and suggestions, I REALLY do appreciate you taking the time to explain and offer possible solutions.
I've spent some time researching here in Atlanta and may have found a guy who used to work for a Chrysler dealership
and was/is a Crossfire certified mechanic with all his diagnostic and repair items still with him.
My car has 85,600 miles on it but has been well cared for over the years.
Stuff wears out, I get that. Hopefully he'll be able to work on it and figure out WTF is up.
Again, many-MANY kind thanks.
