Default Dashboard not lighting up; car wont stay running

My dad was fixing my driver side window which wouldn't go up. He unplug the window motor and tested the current of the wire that was attached. When he went to start the car it stated and then immediately cut back off. Its currently not starting at all. Also the dashboard is not lighting up when the key is turned. The key fob is also not working.

We checked all the fuses and the computer and BCM. It is still not starting up. The battery is fully charged.

We think it could be that the key has been unprogrammed and not being recognized.

Please let me if you know what could be my issue.

Thanks!

Try this first:
Disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes. This will allow all the electronics to go off.
Then reconnect the negative cable. First thing is to try starting the car.
If it starts and runs turn it off and then try the key fob.
If the key fob doesn't sync, here is a video of how to do it:

If the car doesn't run, use the search bar in the upper right. There is a ton of information on here.
Good luck!

"It is still not starting up".n That is too ambiguous. Is the starter engaging or not? That tells us a lot - our cars have a few "no start" ailments that are super common. Which one we are chasing is most determined by answering this question.

My issue is similar to the issue with the key not being recognized. The car starts and then cuts off immediately. After 3 tries it doesn't start again unless I remove the negatve cable from the battery.

Also, my dashboard instrumental panel will not light up other than the battery indicator light.

Also I can manually lock the driverside door, however the passenger side doesn"t lock in unison

I thought it maybe the auto-theft that was somehow triggered when we removed the driverside window motor. Not sure even how to check. I have reviewd comments about the SKREEM device being a factor in this scenario.

Hello Everyone,

The car is now runnung. I was advised to check fuses 35 & 37. It appears fuse 37 was missing all the while but I never had a problem. I put in a new fuse and everything came back to life. I even removed the fuse and the car kept running. Any idea or thoughts as to how this occured?

Thanks for your feesback.

What year is it? The fuse numbers changed through the years.

I suspect that Dad pulled the fuse thinking it had to do with the window motor work, then forgot he'd taken it out.
WIth that fuse pulled, the SKREEM is dead, therefore, the start enable failed and you got the "Three cranks and nothing" of a dead SKREEM.

Default Key will not turn ignition and beeping sound with red blinking light

After reassembling the instrument panel and was able to start the car with no issue.
However, now the ignition cylinder will not turn with the key, and there is a constant beeping sound with a flashing red light on the center counsel.
This is similar to the sound when the key is inserted into the ignition.
The only way to stop the beeping sound is to remove Fuse #35.

Thanks for your feedback!

The key not turning sounds like the sticky key issue. The system now thinks that you left the key in the ignition and is trying to remind you to remove it.
Look on the fuse panel door located on the driver's side dashboard when you open the door.
Usually if someone does the fix they write that it was fixed and the date.
