2004 Crossfire Engine Shuts Off
Hello,
I have a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire V6 Automatic - The vehicle turns on without any problems however after I drive it for a few and if I stop at a light or wherever, the car suddenly shuts off. We have changed the spark plugs and the fuel filter /pressure regular, but it is still happening. Mechanic seems to "think" it is the Fuel Injection Throttle Body. Can anyone provide me with any ideas and/or suggestions of what can be causing this? I don't want to continue buying parts and replacing and paying for parts and labor and then issue still exists. I am close to giving up and just selling my car. : (
Thank you!

Does it restart immediately after dying? It could be a number of things. If never changed yet, I would recommend replacing the RCM as it can cause many issues. Another common issue is the Crankshaft Position Sensor once the engine is warmed up. Have both replaced as they are inexpensive and a good idea to change as a maintenance item. Search the threads, all the information can be found.
Thanks for your response! I will give that a try. It takes 2-3 minutes before it starts up again. Should I still replace the Fuel Injection Throttle Body?
Again, thank YOU!
Again, thank YOU!
I would suggest buying a new one and installing it. Then I would send the old one to @tighed1 to be rebuilt. He rebuilt mine about 2 years ago and it's better than new and was around the 60 dollar range.
These are the most common trouble makers on our cars.
Here are the posts I did for replacing both. The part numbers for both are in the pictures.

the only thing I would do to the throttle body at this point would be to clean it and the MAF ... I think James and M603A are good with their suggestions
Thank you! - I did call the auto store and they said that the only thing they have is a "multi purpose" relay when I asked for a Relay Control Module. Is this the same thing?
this is the Relay Control Module they are talking about ... it holds 5 different relays ... then send the old out to DJ Tighed1 to be rebuilt ...

not sure you will find this module at an auto parts stores like AutoZone, Advance, and O'Reilly's ... you should check places like Rock Auto, Parts Geek, and NeedsWings which are the links I attached ... your Crossfire is actually a 2003 Mercedes-Benz SLK320 ... you can search for parts under both vehicles
