I could scan the pages from the manual and show u the steps but this site is actin weird with addin pics....but search you might be able to find the actual manual on here if you find a 05-07 manual its purdy much the same. The filter is in front of the pass. rear tire above a plastic cover take the 4 screws off and you will see it next to the fuel pump. Its really easy to change, just make sure to pull the fuel pump fuse out and start the car that will get rid of the pressure thats in the line and you won't leak fuel everywhere.

Needswings has Bosch OEM equipment for $40. I'm going to be doing mine if a few weeks. If you can wait until then I'll get some photo's up of the project.

So its accessed in the wheel well or through the trunk? Also, is there a set procedure once its changed out concerning the whole fuse removal and fuel pressure procedure. Lastly, how do you guys know it needs changing, is it based on the milage or is the filter somehow visible to determine if its neccessary?

The fuel filter is to the left of the rear passenger tire its above a square plastic cover. Its not bad at all to change. I replaced mine after I think 50K miles beacuse my camaro fuel pump burned out due to a clogged fuel filter and I hated workiin on that...anyway....in the manual I believe it says change at the 100k mile service, Unless you see a decresed performance level or other engine problems you really dont need to change it till the recommended time. I just have a habit of doing things early.

After you change it and put the fuse back in all you need to do is turn the key dont start it just turn the key one position and the fuel pump will prime the system. The fuel filter is accessed under the car not through the wheel well.

Bosch Updated Fuel Filter - Regulator

get under car, remove plastic shield and its right there just forward of the pass side rear wheel, you will spill a little gas so have a pan ready and good ventilation.

The regulator is inside the filter. Heres the pages from the service manual. Its not hard to do....the hardest part is fittin under the car lol.

Is there really any need to release the fuel system pressure first, or can you just wrap rags around the hoses as we take the clamps off the fuel lines ?

Why does everyone seem to want to change the filter? These things have to have a ton of cr@p in them before they are plugged and unless you know you had a bum tank of gas it would seem a waste of time. If you did have bum gas I would suggest cleaning the tank out as well or you will be doing it again real soon.

Had the fuel filter changed yesterday. I had it changed because I am not the orginal owner and that way I know what has and has not been done to the car. I took it to my normal mechanic and he charged me $ 40 US. After seeing this done, it was good money spent. By the way the dealer wanted $ 150 for the filter part that did not include putting it in.

changed the filter on my 2005 roadster. I figured a cheap ebay filter would be better than a stock fuel filter with 150k on it. Since the install my fuel pump has be quite loud. Had I known that there was a pressure regulator on the filter, I would have splurged for the name brand. Anyone have insight, other than don't buy cheap parts from Ebay.

You can buy "cheap filters" off Ebay... Just make sure it's name brand as indicated here and there on the forum. Picked up the wife's roadster filter off Ebay and get my oil filters there too..

I discovered that when I took the cover off to listen to the noise, it went away. Looks like the hoses got kinked by the orientation of the pump and the filter. Twisting the pump and the filter to facilitate the path of least resistance, seems to have worked.

I put the cover back on now and all is well. Cheap pump, Cheap filter and all.
