AT Tranny stuck in gear
Hi Folks. Just wanted to share an update on my car going into limp mode. onehundred80 gave me a link to a posting by Jocko124, in which Jocko124 had the same problem. Jocko124's fix was accomplished with an Autel code scanner. He downloaded the BENZ profile from Autel and was then able to clear the P0715 fault codes, and he reported that the car was no longer in limp mode.
Well, I ordered an Autel device, downloaded the BENZ and Chrysler modules and plugged it up to the OBDII port. Scan using a selection of 170 to select the SLK 32AMG and it picked up 8 separate codes (some for accessories our cars don't have). I cleared the codes, and took my car for a short test ride. The car now shifts properly and the autostick works as expected again. I'll do some longer range testing driving tomorrow, but this appears to have solved the problem.
A big thanks to onehundred80 and Jocko124!!!

Hey Kippawar, an Autel code scanner can help with your problem. The one I got, Autel DiagLink can do the job of resetting those codes. However, if there is an actual underlying problem, your car will throw that code again. In the end, I had to replace the transmission conductor plate, as the speed sensor was failing. If you get the DiagLink unit, during setup you will be able to download various manufacturer appropriate software add-ons. Get the one for Benz. It was only about $10 for the download. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
