Why I surprised the computer has not fined tuned for the sensor made for that housing.
Does the tune help compensate for the difference with using the smaller maf in the larger housing?
NO.. I tuned the wife's car.. then added throttle body and larger housing .. no retune was required per Eurocharge..

Where did you guys find a bit to take out the maf from housing?
Drove around to O'Reilly, autozone, and lowes, trying to find a security torx can not find a t26 security, tried several bits if any had some variation, t27 is 2 big and t25 is to small.
Not even a t26 security online.

It is NOT a standard 'T' bit, they are 6 point.
This is a FIVE point.
I just use pliers with tiny sharp teeth to get them out.

The screws holding the sensor in place are the five point (not the normal six point) Torx TS style. These are the tamper resistant style and baffled me until Beaner said I could use a small flat head screwdriver on them. I had a tamper resistant flat head bit and it fit like a glove.
I have a set. And I've given a couple of sets to selected friends!

"Most' of us buy the cheap china MAF housing.. which comes with a cheap China sensor anyways.. I'd just assume us my OEM Bosch.. If you paid a premium and got a Bosch sensor.. well after a week of bucking and snorting.. congrats on it working..

If it worked was going to get the bosch later.
It never ran bad, just alittle rough occasionally at idle and if I started in 2nd gear which I only do if I not at a complete stop.

I seen the points and the dimple for bit and automatically thought a t25 ot t27 tamper proof bit which has 6 points.
The 5 point is a ts I believe, so is it a ts27?

Checking to see the size, can order a bit through napa I can get a ts27 bit by Saturday morning for $3.99 if I order tomorrow morning.

The larger MAF housing was used on a 5 litre engine and naturally the velocity of the air passing through it was higher than the velocity of the air passing through it on the 3.2 litre engine. The velocity of the air on the 3.2 litre engine was closer to the velocity of the velocity of the air in the smaller MAF than the velocity of the air in the larger MAF on the 5 litre engine. From that I judged the smaller MAF sensor was the correct one to use.
I want do 74mm throttle body upgrade but I afraid that change MAF housing for bigger is not good idea. Anybody check exhaust temperature after change?
Our OEM MAF is designed for OEM 68 housing, if we change only housing for 74mm I think that MAF give not correct infos to ECU. Car can work, maybe have more power but probably this is not good for engine. I think after change for housing 74mm we must remap ecu.
Change only throttle body for 74mm and use old 68mm MAF is no problem.
I think good or not?
