The towing button is used when the car is going to be towed, if the car is raised an alarm will go off.
Oh, ok...so the theft prevention button is the same one I would deactivate if I have to have the Crossie towed. Got it. Thanks!! I thought the rear axle locked up or something.... if it was left 'on'.
My car alarm went off a couple times today and stopped when I started the car, moved it to the shade and then set the alarm again. I''ve had the car for a couple of years and never had this issue before. Do I change the batteries in the key fob, or do I have to change the circuit board somewhere under the hood? I did not see a video on how to do that.......would appreciate some advice on the level of Crossfire Fixes for Dummies
It is most likely the batteries inside the alarm module itself going bad.
You can remove the plastic cowl cover and unplug it for now - it's the round black plastic lump located close to center.
See my pdf about replacing the batteries, or just get a new module.
Post #1 has been updated to the condition it was in until it was deleted in error some time back when I was altering it. A back up copy was installed by the site mod but it was an old copy.
Some additions have also been made.
I never got inspired to repair it properly, if it goes out again it will be adios for good.
I never thought it would grow this big, I have original copies of all the PDF files, amazing.
I just replaced the A/C RCM unit trying to resolve my ac unit blowing hot air on one side but cold on the other. It didnt work! Anyone out there know what else I might try??

The air blend door on the hot side is not working or one of the valves under the hood is jammed. Something like this anyway.
( that's the 2 round things in front of the battery )
I think they are normally open and should close when the temperature dial on the dash is turned to cold.
If the hose going to the firewall from the valve is hot then the valve is not working or the temp control for that valve on the dash is not working properly.
I'm told (in a GrayGhost post) that these valves cycle between open and closed faster or slower depending on the temperature setting, presumably totally shut in the cold position.
These valves cost about $45 used on eBay, which would put them over $500 at the dealers for new ones, just joking.

Hi Dave, GraphiteGhost, there is a greyghost member, just wanted to set the record straight. And, yes, they are normally open (NO) and close upon signal from the A/C head in the cabin. The design is to 'failsafe' to the heating position, hence the open state with no power.
I can't get the PdF files to open. It may be.my PC...but I open other PDF files just fine. Can someone check them? Specifically the interior door pull repair.

Opens OK for me.
I sent you an IM with it attached.
Thank you so very much for assembling & posting this valuable information resource for Crossfire owners. As our cars get older, even Chrysler dealer mechanics don't always have reliable answers to problems or sources for parts.

Again, many thanks,

Most 'Chrysler' dealer mechanics in general have no clue about this Benz class vehicle. They rely on the service manual step-by-step to get a clue (and even then miss it by a mile many times, on your dime). I STRONGLY suggest you NEVER take the car to a dealership (those of which we call 'STEALERSHIPS'). I have lamented before that this forum is the most dedicated in the ongoing lifespan of this car. The BEST forum for the members I ever came across (and that has been more than a few to say the least).
