Yes I agree, in the UK, the Chysler name was used as a replacement for the Hillman name which was phased out with the demise of the Rootes Group. Unfortunately the cars in that range were rot-boxes, but the engine in the Avenger was good. Just trying to recall the other Chrysler branded cars of the era. Another disasterous name that came out of these developments was the Talbot Avenger. Then came the disasterous Simca 1100 from France, a company that Chrysler bought with regret, and later sold on to Peoguot for a 1p. Then to completely finish of the Chrsler brand in the UK, they lauched the Chysler Alpine against competitors like the Austin Maxi and Morris 1100, and 5 years later most of them all ended up in the scrap yard!
Enter the Datsun Cherry, the rest is history!

And when my '04 is old and tired I absolutely intend to find another well kept Crossfire to replace it right away.
I can't think of any other car I would really want for the price range.
And I hope that I always will have a group of members like this to continue to share info with.

Worthless compared to what? For the money nothing, repeat nothing, is comparable to these cars whether coupe, roadster,or srt. True some of the earliest owners paying "list" at the time must feel like hell but they are few and far between. Most of us now are glad the rest of the car buyers don't know what we know about these jewels in the rough. As I read thru these many words some complaining, some asking but mostly praising I'm curious how many others out there who have purchased and have on hand 2, 3 or more crossfires. I have two, wish I had the money to get another two for when these finally wear out. Mercedes, BMW and the like are a dime a dozen all you need is a lot of money and then go run with the herd

Worthless. How 'bout "a bargain."
Besides, I bought stocks this year that depreciated four times what my Xfire did.
A least I can drive my Crossfire.
Name me a car that is going up in value right now.
Nobody is buying anything at list or even normal market.

a chap at work has just bought a Maserati ! There are some bargains around if you don't care about running costs. It has occured to me to swap to an SRT, with the price differential now quite low, or just a lower mileage newer one with warranty. I'm sure dealers are desperate for some money and there may be some attractive deals out there.
It is strange, when I bought mine 18 months ago, the roadsters went like hot cakes. I chased down three at dealers that sold within days, one to someone in Cyprus. The one I actually bought had already had two people try and buy it, one couldn't get insurance and the other couldn't get a loan. There was no way you could talk dealers down on price. How things change !

This poor guy has had this SRT6 on eBay twice now and can't get $15,850 for it!

Mods and everything!
I notice the engine badge. Is he/she on the forum???
It's a shame... a bargain if you're buying, a loser if you're selling, but still a better return than my 401K!

Yep - OK - You guys have the right philosophy here, and like you Im in it for the long haul. Im used to keeping my cars for several years and usually give them to my sons in stead of selling. But I get just as much pleasure from the car now as I did when I first bought it. If could get away with it, I would buy a second one.
I have seen here in the UK a 2007 Blaze Red Coupe with next to no miles on it for £12K at a Chrysler dealer, only prob is the £6K he is offering for mine!
Back to the drawing board!!!

Hi Steve-UK I know the feeling, I spotted a low mileage SRT I was interested in and was very surprised when the dealer would not take my special adapted Crossfire as a trade in.... UK Ken.
Hi All
The Xfire is a keeper for sure with the prices , We looking at a his & her Xfires setup , Could be fun following each other around , The next will have to be the Very Black SRT6 (its the only way to go) ,I had Turbos , V8s & two V6s so its got to be a supercharged one next
,
Cheers
