Camber Problems
I purchased an SRT6 a few months back and it has been riding great. I knew when I purchased the car, that I would be needing new tires within the next 6 months or so. The tire wear at that time appeared even.
I was looking under my SRT6 this evening and notice both my front tires have severe wear on the inside, (Steel belt starting to show) This has come on rather suddenly. I know this indicates Camber problems.
Before I bring the car in to get it aligned, can someone tell me what to expect? Could it be as simple as an alignment or should I anticipate other issues?
Also, can someone tell by looking at the car if it was lowered by the previous owner? He did put 18" wheels on the back. I am attaching a picture.

Looks lowered to me. When I Lowering my car camber increases as well as toe out. you may be able to get by with just toe adjustment. On my car I installed camber bolts from the dealer in the front and a K-Mac camber kit in the rear. My car in now all within factory specs (camber/toe) and lowered.
No doubt about it; lowered more than mine.
Btw, Lantana, how much did you lower yours?
Mine is a little less than yours.
Maybe even on the drivers side with me in the car.

Well I brought my SRT6 into a shop that said they could handle lowered suspensions. He picked up the same MB Camber bolts that were posted on the other alignment thread and said he could barely get .5 deg. which was not nearly enough.
When I picked up the car today, the shop owner suggested that he could cut into both sides of the engine compartment where the upper control arm bolts are. They would be horizontal cuts and he would weld a plate over the cut. This would allow the control arm bolt to be moved outward thus pushing the upper part of the wheel out.
When I looked under the hood, he would have to remove a lot of stuff to get this done. This does not seem like a good idea to me.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Is there another camber kit that can give be more than .5 deg adjustment?
