Besides tell you tire prssure is low,
I had a sensor replaced and it needs to be programmed.

Will the low TPMS light effect the car in anyway(traction control,abs,esp)

It tells you if the pressure is high or low. Great to have with the tire prices for these cars!

I don't know how your state inspection works but in mine you'd fail if your tpms was faulty.

 

Nope.

The TPM"S just tell the car the tires are full above the programed pressure range. Nothing else.

I have aftermarket rims on the coupe. Indicator light has been on for years. No issues at all.

However, it was handy to know a rear tire on the roadster was flat in Nashville a few years back. The car did not feel funny or like it had a flat. Had the dashlight not come on, I would have ruined the tire.

 

The new EZ Sensor TPMS sensors are programable by the tire shops....... they cost $60 each at Discount Tires....

 

I believe the better tire shops are capable of programing the sensors in our tires. They just need the right piece of gear.

 

Possible to reprogramme these buggers yourself? I do not know the numbers on the actual sensors..so I guess I have to take the tires off again, right? If yes, I will certainly do this when I have worn my Pilot Super Sports.

I check my tire pressure weekly so i'm ok as long as it doesnt effect anything else

 

I deleted my indicator with the Rudy fix, pulled a wire in a connector. Never looked back. Woody
