Default Suspension problem

Was hoping to make this post to show my new set up, but I need some advice!

I ordered the Eibach pro-kit and a set of Bilstein shocks to change the look and ride of the car.

The car went onto the lift and the install went relatively smoothly. While I was at it, I installed the front camber bolts and some adjustable rear camber arms to help with the probable change in camber (ordering the kmac kit for the front later.. it's expensive!).

I dropped the car and measured the gaps; they were all reasonable so i thought I'd go for a ride to help everything settle. The car was already looking great!

Then the problem.. after 5 minutes of driving I heard a clunk form the front right wheel over bumps and whatnot, so I went back home to investigate. I instantly noticed it dropped nearly 3/4 to 1 inch compared to the other side.. so I jacked it up and saw it was rubbing pretty badly after the short drive.

I put it back on the lift and checked everything, and all was supposedly well. I asked my dad and he suggested it may be the spring. So a new set was ordered (at no cost ) to install two new front springs to see if the old were defective.

Put them in, dropped the car, and went for another drive. No real issues! now about a day later I am noticing once again nearly 3/4 of an inch difference between the two front wheels.

I'm really not sure what could be wrong, and the only thing left would be to try a bigger spring pad. I'm just tired of taking this stuff apart haha. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyways, that's my introduction!
A thread isn't a thread without pics, so i'll post some soon!

The only thing I can think of that MIGHT cause one side to be higher/lower than the other is if your shop did not get the springs in the seats on the bottom and in the top spring pads on one side..... presuming that the car was level side to side before the spring/shock change.....

Check EVERYTHING... even things as simple as sway-bar mounts. It's unusual that only the passenger side would drop 1" lower, if the install method was identical on both sides. Also, make sure the shocks are torqued to roughly 30ft/lbs...

Spring pads, once in place, don't move. And the springs settle a TAD but nothing crazy like an additional inch. Mine only settled 1/4", if that.

Which Bilsteins did you order, out of curiosity?

I did it all in my garage so I made sure they were seated the second time. And they were level as far as I could tell before! haha

Heard that, about to go out and do check it all again. And they are Bilstein HD's.
Thanks for the quick replies

Talking Re: Suspension problem

Just me but swap springs to see if issue is the springs or the install / mount. If problem does not move its the mounting. If it does move, check the springs again. Woody

Well, the first thing is, you heard the noise, then noticed the drop. Something wasn't seated, or something wasn't tightened. I can't tell you a thing about the suspension as mine is stock and staying that way...but common sense says, something gave in so to speak...if the springs were fine before, they are fine now, but the seating of the pads, would make a difference, not sure what the camber bolts do, but, if not tightened properly, maybe look there..but, I don't think the shocks would have an affect on height...good luck, let us know what you find...

I suggest that you might have tightened the lower control arms while you had car jacked up - this can cause control arm to hang up in wrong position. the front and trailing lower control arm bolts should receive final tightening once the car is lowered completly to the ground so that compression on the bushings is set at normal wheel position (not the jacked-up position). Just a thought......regards and good luck.
