You can actually go into your user profile and pull up all your post if there's something you'd like to look over again.

I think you are right..but what's the liability exactly? if I have someone with me to put them on *which I doubt* is there an exact and precise way to do that?

"My wheel fell off and I lost control and drove through the coffee shop" and Dave's Tire and Lube was the one that put it on the car...

Here's the information you need to give your wheel person..

Bolt Pattern - Offset - Center Bore - Man. Part #

5x112 +50mm 72.60mm 437-880-4450BK (your 18" wheels)

stock front 35mm 66.56mm ( Crossfire OEM Wheel)

From reading other threads you "should" be able to get away with using your current spacer with just the hub centric rings.

EDIT: Tried to get those to line up in columns but I now give up.. LOL

Oh my gosh if that didn't make me sit up and take notice. I have to drive my car about twenty five miles to this place and my steering wheel is shaky at about 55 mph now after a diffrent place took the tire off to get a nail out of it, patched and put it back on. I think I'll be paranoid the entire time. I'll print what you said here and show it to him. I never would have dreamt I'd have car problems because of wheels someone had installed! Hope you didn't get hurt!

Not a problem at all. It was a re run of 2 1/2 men.. Hopefully they'll get you lined out knowing what size rings you need. (Disclaimer - information provided based on internet accuracy).. always cover your butt.. LOL

OKay..so this is how the morning went with the wheel problem. I decided not to go to the Discount Tire store b/c I knew they would not touch it. I ended up at Tire & Wheel Connection who initially didn't want to touch it. He came out and took a look at it with me and I think took pity on me and decided to work with me on the problem. He said the Enkei wheels are completely wrong for the tire and in fact so much so that they are detrimental to the car, the mileage and that I should be feeling every bump in the road. He had me get in the car and turn the wheel completely to the right. He showed me where if I put my hand behind the tire, there is a bolt that is so close to the tire it could shread it. I put my hand in there and I really felt like it was sitting on top of the tire. When I got home I ran a single sheet of paper between the bolt and tire it was able to slip through. The spacers are 1/8" btw. He was considering putting on larger ones, but after pulling someone else from the back to look at it they felt that it would just not make the car safe. SO..I really couldn't spend alot of money and what the wheels look like isn't nearly as important to me as it to probably alot of you guys :-) although I did like that they matched the car..but safety first! He tried to find some of the factory wheels locally here but didn't have any luck, so he showed me these Motegy wheels and they are coming from California and they will bore them to precisely fit my tires. He isn't charging me for shipping and told the guy to include hubs and he'd cover it. He took my car to the back and took the wheels off and told me he could tell where someone had grinded down the bolt that I could feel behind the tire which he said was not good. They found that they back tires were not weighted at all *Thanks Firestone* and the fronts were not weighted correctly. I told him about the TPMS light being on and he told me he didn't think I had those sensors in the tires but had one of the guys check. Fortunately I do have them, but the back left is not working, so will pick up one of those at the Dodge dealer and they wil install that when they install the new wheels. So I was really nervous driving up there b/c of all this talk about a bolt breaking off the me losing my tire off the car, which I expressed to this guy that was helping me. They got me set and he told me to call him if something felt really weird on the way home. This is wild! I pull onto the freeway to head home and am only on it for a minute and the car in front of me...seriously...THE BACK TIRE COMES OFF AND ROLLS OFF ONTO THE FREEWAY. I swerve to miss it and then it rolls to the side and the person who lost the tire is able to pull to the side of the freeway. Don't know if the tire ended up hitting a car behind me or not. WHAT are the odds! I definitely saw that as a sign that the new wheels need to happen to make my car safe and it is PARKED in my garage until they call me to tell me the rims have arrived. WOW! Aside from that last exciting bit...what do you all feel about this. Let me see if I can get the pic of the wheels that are on order. I click on manage attachments and it doesn't do anything so I'll try posting with just the photo next. Ohh..and he told me I should take a photo and see the rims on Craigslist.

Those are the ugliest wheels I have ever seen!! OMG

(just kidding)

I think your wheel guy is being a little over dramtic about the wheels being wrong for the car and about the suspension bolt.... several of us that have after market wheels/tires have "adjusted" that bolt so it can't touch the tire and cause damage. But he is the one that is guarantying his work and product. You will be safe and happy and that is what matters.

HaHa on the wheels comment! So the bolts being a slip of paper away from touching the tire is not worrisome or do you mean that you manage to get them further away from the tire? Oh well..since I don't have anyone to turn to here, to resolve the problem I really don't have a choice but to get new wheels. Everyone just wants to say they won't touch it. I'll list the Enkei's on Craiglists or Ebay and I'll put that towards the new ones.

You have had your problems and I am glad you are about to solve them. Too bad someone fixed a tire and never bothered to re-balance it.

I do not have too much faith in tire shops, some of the employees are not skilled and are at the bottom of the food chain and do not know or care too much.

Earlier this year one shop left one wheel loose out of four new tires and it made a noise after a day, the next stop at the shop for another set of tires two bolts were too tight and two too loose. This was after I pointed out the first error to the owner. The owner said it was probably rust or something that caused the loose wheel, I told him that an apology would have been better than excuses. I think I will not go back there again.
How hard is it to say sorry?

You saw what happens when wheels are installed wrong, probably stripped threads from over tightening or negligence from not spotting a problem.

What was that liability thing we were discussing last night? I'm sure those wheels could have been set up for use on your car, but all things considered it sounds like you've gone the best route for you! Diehard wrench heads won't take no for an answer when they get their minds made up (some wheel threads in here) .. lol. Glad to hear soon you will get to SAFELY enjoy your car.
