Default 'Relearning' TPMS? I did a search...

Hi. I have a 2004 with 132K miles and after waiting and waiting, I replaced all four tires, the fronts last week, the rears yesterday. I also had the TPMS replaced in the front drivers side and rear passenger side (these two were toast).

BUT, it was only after the tires were replaced that the guys at Discount Tire told me that while most TPMS can be 'tuned', that the ones for the Crossfire need to be done at the dealership. I don't like going to the ones nearby since prior experience with them were nightmares.

However, if I have to, I will. But, and yes, I looked through the threads here only to end up thoroughly confused, can I take my car to perhaps a MB dealership, or could my local decent car repair shop do whatever needs to be done for these sensors to work?

Sorry about the rambling nature of this post; I'm in the middle of meetings and I needed to get this posted.

Thanks for any input/suggestions.

Only a Chrysler dealer that is certified on Crossfires can do it. They have a converter that goes between there OBD 3 reader an the Crossfire. Resetting the TPMS takes about a minute.

Just for future references .. I'm thinking the best bet is to get your tire shop to acquire programmable sensors that they can set with your originals ID. Then It's not another trip and writing a check to the dealer to program the car to the sensor. Schrader now has these available.
