SLK320 Springs Compatible?
Re: SLK320 Springs Compatible?
I looked extensively to try to find the SLK 320 spring rates and was never able to find anything. The MB dealer didn't have the info, nor could I find it on the SLK sites.
You might try Donovan at Ground Control Systems in California. His company makes after market suspension packages for the SRT and NA XF. The springs have different rates than factory, and they use an adjustable shock. I bought the "Touring" version package and am having it installed tomorrow.

I don't see why the springs wouldn't.

The shocks for the '320 DO fit our cars.

Also, there is a $40 rebate on KYB shocks if you purchase them by tomorrow (April 30th).
I ended up purchasing some SRT6 springs off a forum member. Otherwise, I probably would have given the SLK320 springs a shot.
Maybe next time I need new springs I will update this thread after trying them out
Re: SLK320 Springs Compatible?
I searched some more and the final answer is yes and no.
By searching the springs in the catalogue of Suplex (http://www.mladov.ru/katalog/suplex/..._2008-2009.pdf) I found out that the rear springs are identical, yet the front springs are not.
However, I used the Suplex part codes to get the dimensions from this (Dutch) site: Veer vooras SUPLEX 19347 | MijnAutoOnderdelen.nl
Note: this spring is the correct N/A front spring, SRT = 19348 and rear = 19219
Weird thing about suplex though is that the rear springs are identical between the N/A and SRT. Is this correct? Front springs are a LOT thicker (1.5mm) and lower (25mm).
I concluded that the SLK320 springs (19202) are higher (7mm) and thicker (0.2mm). So they should fit, yet you gain a higher ride height since the total length is longer and the spring is stiffer (at least I assume the materials used are the same thus thicker equals stiffer).
I got DOT3 pads in front so I could win about 8mm in height. Yet I don´t know if that would drop the car enough to cancel the lift of the SLK springs. So at this point I´m leaning towards the (more expensive) Suplex 13947 springs because I don't want the car te be any higher. Rear springs should be a direct fit.
edit:
See attached photo
Could anyone measure their N/A or SRT springs in length and diameter? Then I can double check if these springs are the correct ones.

Re: SLK320 Springs Compatible?
For the SRT is would be 85599 and 19348, these are stiffer and lower, convertible SRT will be different (softer).
Re: SLK320 Springs Compatible?
also i never had to changed my spring pads for adjustments to the height.

You might want to investigate the AMG version springs if you go the Merc part numbers.
Re: SLK320 Springs Compatible?
Click on the link, this will give you some view points concerning a swap of springs.
1. The spring rate is softer
2. The tires provide a different ride, the SLK has a taller side wall, when compared to our low profile tires on the Crossfire. This is the reason the SLK's have a softer ride.
3. A full conversion must take place, springs, new wheels and tires... BIG $$$$ conversion
Good Luck
