If it still bothers you, maybe you can use some fiberglass or even bend some thin aluminum and cover it that way.
Many thanks for your advice... I am afraid car shows are not that common over here, or at least, not that I know. Spanish laws are so restrictive as far as mods that it's just not worth it. I just want to enjoy the car, so I will live with that hole on the side.

Wonder if your cut is just a bad badge?

I will have another look at it, but the fact is right now the MAF connector is in the way of the brake line...

Love that site. Get the Chrysler logo printed on gold paper and looks amazing.

Where did you get the key fob shell? I have been ordering the black Mercedes ones. Looks better with the dark grey SRT6 but recently I have been wanting the "OEM" find to put the chip and transponder in for an OEM look.
And then again, the black key fob shells are so cheap and some look more modern (silver spring button and silver key ring) that I might stick with them. I replace them every so often...so easy to do and those fonts are dirt cheap when you just want to move your "old" chip, key and transponder over for a new look.

I got this from LA Car Tech dcskmail had posted another one with electronics in it, but the electronics won't work off the shelf. You would have to program them to the car.
If you're just looking for a case, these are great! Made just like the original and very sturdy. The push button for the key is made of chromed metal, not plastic.
The only thing is, the original blade will not fit in it. The pivot point in the original is smaller than the new one. I had the new blade cut and used the old electronics.
It works great!

Today I rebuilt the heater control valve (Duo Valve).
I also gave my car a bit of nostalgia. I had a Pentastar that I had bought for my 1969 Charger that I had to sell for personal reasons.
I've had it for almost 40 years and today I put it on Svengoolie as a nod to the older cars.

Back in the day Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth would put a Pentastar on the passenger side of every car they made. They put it on that side of the car so that people on the sidewalk would see it as they passed.
They would know it was a Chrysler product.
I think it looks pretty good.

John, did the rebuild solve the warm air issue? I ask because you mentioned in another post your looking for a climate control module.

BTW, I saw the rebuild posts, awesome!

Hi George,
I don't know for sure until I can drive the car. Currently it is still up on the ramps. I'm waiting for new body braces to arrive and I have to add another coat of paint underneath.
It's going to be warm tomorrow, so I should be able to paint it.
I'll let you know asap.
I appreciate the comment about the post. I have to go back into the duo valve tomorrow, I forgot to replace two rubber seals. I'll edit the post to show them.
John

A good news/bad news type of day today.
I've been waiting on new body braces/struts for under my roadster. There are 4, as opposed to the coupe that has only 2.
Well the good news is that the parts finally arrived today. The bad news is both rear struts look nothing like my originals.
I guess the SLK 320 has a different setup underneath. Even though we use the same platform.
I'm going to keep the 2 front struts. The company was very understanding and is going to issue a refund for the rear struts.
Good thing I went ahead and refurbished the old ones!

Looks like the SLK320 PS Rear brace would work if the mounting hole used by the OEM strut was the outward one where 2 mounting holes exist. SLK320 DS Rear definitely doesn't fit - too short. If the SLK320 PS Rear brace would work, looks like it also works for the DS Brace on the Crossfire. Crossfire Rear Braces seem to be the same length. Worth checking.

And if the Crossfire used the Inner Mounting Hole on the end with 2 holes, might be easy to drill a similar mounting hole on the SLK320 brace (but that would negate a return for refund). More to think about.

So I've been having some issues starting the 2007 Coupe. It hasn't been driven much this year, basically sitting in the driveway under cover. On the cold days we had last week, car wouldn't even crank. So today i removed the Super Start Extreme 48 H6 battery I bought from O'Reilly's 3+ years ago, and went up to the local Walmart to get an Everstart battery. Ended up buying the Platinum AGM H6 version, with a 4-yr replacement warranty. Never been a believer that the AGM battery design was worth the extra money over the Everstart MAXX H6 3-yr replacement. But Walmart was running a sale on the Platinum AGM version and I bought it for essentially the same price as the 3-yr version. (Note: All these Everstart batteries are still under $200 versus the other battery sources.) Anyway, Coupe is back to starting like it should - time to take a weekend trip with it when weather warms up..

Roberta & I get their Pork Tenderloin sandwich whenever we go to Culver's. Only eatery here in SC where we can get that sandwich. It's a Midwest thing!

It's a good idea, but luckily the rear braces were in pretty good shape. I have refurbished them and used the POR 15 rust killing kit and gave them 3 coats of Rustoleum paint to protect them.
I'm just going to send the other two back and use the new front braces.

That's the same battery I bought about a year ago. It still needs a battery tender in the extreme cold weather. But it starts like a champ!

I have a lightly modified SRT-6. My dual cold air intake is off of an SL55 AMG. Today, I replaced the filters. So I noticed one side of the intake had two filters. A regular Mann C3689 paper air filter on each side, and an extra Mann AE 2501 charcoal filter on only one side. It fits in a special little bracket located on the clean side of the paper filter.

The Mann AE 2501 on the left filter housing of my SL55 AMG intake, on my SRT-6. Notice, it doesn't even cover the entire face of the filter housing. It sits on top of the Mann C 3689 paper filter, on the clean side.

You can sort of see part of the special bracket holding the Mann AE 2501 charcoal filter in the housing. I've taken the filter out of the housing to show off the part number.

Notice, these are NOT Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 air cleaners. They are SL55 AMG dual cold air intake adapted to fit an SRT-6.

Folks, this is NOT a cabin air filter. Please don't say that my engine DCAI has a cabin air filter. I know what the cabin air filter is, where it goes, what it looks like etc... Again, this is NOT a cabin air filter.

Can anyone explain to me what the Mann AE 2501 does? Why is there a charcoal filter in my engine dual cold air intake system?

How come it only covers about 7/8 of the face of the filter housing?

I took the extra charcoal filter out for now. If anyone is interested in putting a SL55 AMG intake in their car, the clips on the bottom where the intake snaps on to the engine must be relocated. The previous owners welded additional clips to the factory clips to make it fit. See the photo below.

Again, this is NOT a cabin air filter. I promise.

THIS IS A CABIN AIR FILTER. It does NOT fit in the engine's dual cold air intake filter housing.

Isn't it possible it is just the wrong filter?

Those air filters are not stock for the set up you have, click on the link below. The stock filters, regardless of the company are much deeper than what you're using and they fit perfectly with the air boxes. Your current filters belong to another air system, but appear to be a cabin filter, regardless of your claims. MB would not have a misfit filter on their cars, period!
Whoever sold you that induction system was clueless....
Good Luck,
Dennis

Done, and DONE! PS: There was a problem with the 'vote' part, website security I guess? Had to open it in a open 'cookie filled browser' so the page would 'load'. Just an FYI, Good luck John!
