My plans are very simple,,,do absolutely nothing to the car! Just drive it on some limited occasions and enjoy it! I know, I'm the weird one (lol)!

No, in many ways you are the smart one. I have never out grown the need to make something faster. So, I have put a lot into the roadster to play at the track. The track decided it was too fast as a roadster and wanted me to install a roll cage. Had no interest to do that so I bought a coupe. I thought well I will just transfer the parts onto the coupe...well, no, lets just make them both a little faster. 2 modded SRT's is a huge investment but still not as much as I had in 1 ZO6 Corvette. I have a lot more fun with these than the vette any day....enjoy the car as it is....

Preach it brother... LOL!! I agree completely.

Glad to hear everyone has big plans... love the fact that these cars might be "old" but they haven't lost their fun factor.

Been a while since I've posted, and just wanted to see what everyone is planning for the new year?

With the engine basically where I want it, I'm going to focus mainly on the suspension and aesthetics this year.

I'm very excited to see what Ground Control has to offer... I've honestly been holding off on the standard Eibach/Koni setup for that reason.

In addition to that, I'm planning on the VIS hood (I'm thinking this will be a knockout design). Will likely have to do a full re-spray on the front bumper as well, to make it all look fresh (bugs are like bullets at 150... who knew?)

I've posted two photos of the car as it sits... the suspension and hood are going to be some NICE additions.

Anyways, what's in store for you guys & girls?

Cheers,
Where the hell did you find sunlight for a photo?

I loved my vette but with 50k invested in it, I was always afraid to really enjoy it. Now I have two fast little dudes with 50K invested in them. I don't mind playing with them. I would still love to have another vette, but it what it is. The one vette I like is triple digits, so that isn't happening.

You are right. MY vette's were always fun and I loved all 5 that I have owned over the years. The Vette Club and Vette meets, not so much. I don't know what it is, just didn't have any fun at those events. I have a lot more fun with some of the groups here. The cars, perform with the best of the cars I have owned over the years with very little work to get there. You can sink as much money you want into a Vette or Camaro. Plenty of parts and different ways to go. They might even be a little faster or quicker than my XF's, but I don't have that kind of money in them. That's what I like.

1 goal for 2014... 10's in the 1/4. Even if it is a 10.99, I will take it.

Airscape seen you around the forums for years. As a fellow ,ember being in your shoes I would recommend thinking long and hard about entering back into the Crossfire market unless you plan to keep it forever. The value on these cars is horrible, as much as I love mine. Maybe that means a good deal for you but you'll never be able to sell it for much later. I was in the same spot as you and bought an SRT6 after trading in my Limited and wrecking my C55. I couldn't resist buying an SRT6 but now that I am in the market to sell no one is buying . I did get offered $8000 the other day for my SRT.

Well said Ray. A friend once told me that keeping a car garaged and not enjoying it was like having a beautiful woman but instead of enjoying her charms every oppertunity you get, saving her. Saving her for what? Her next man ?

I bought my coupe new with 40 miles on the clock. Every one of the 100k plus miles on her now are memories that I have enjoyed and other Crossfire owners that I have met and now call friends.

I have faith in you man!! I think you'll be deeper than that, if you can get a hook.

I hear ya. I'm kind of torn honestly but there still isn't anything out there that speaks to me like the xfire does. (Well in my current price range anyway ) I do like the idea of having something like the BRZ with so many aftermarket options you can literally do whatever you want, inside and out. 350z are going for dirt now as well and have plenty of options. I have always been a huge fan of the RX-7 too. Ahhhhh, driving a ranger with close to 200,000 on it will have you looking at anything with Rose colored glasses though . You're definitely right about the money, the xfire is a cash pit anyway you look at it but I wouldn't be in it for the resale. (Although it would be nice to get something back out of it). Time will tell, I have a lot of work to do on my new (old) house too so who knows what this year will hold. There is a track opening up right out side of town this year and a dedicated SRT for the road course has really started to sound good. I appreciate the insight, will keep it in mind.

Well, you are in good company! That's pretty much my routine. 07 Coupe has nearly 15k on the ODO - car is getting worn out! Hah! Changed oil/filter a couple of weeks back. Only the 2nd oil change I've done on the car in 5+ years of ownership! Quarts of 0w40 Mobile 1 had a price of $4.99 on them - that's some time ago!

When warmer weather shows up, may have the wheels cleaned up by a local repair service. Small amount of "curb rash" on PS. Been there since I bought it in 2008. Hardly noticeable to anyone else. But one of those things that bugs me!

Later,

I have been watching the market as well and the prices have dropped and yes I keep buying widgets and bling as well and it's just a limited roadster not a SRT, but it's now a hobby not a investment, as long as you are enjoying it who cares!
My golf clubs are not worth what I paid
my Trek bycle is with half what I paid
My guns are not with what I paid

And I won't talk about my motorcyle! No it's not a Harley but it's another hobby I enjoy!

Bottom line LIVE!
Top Up
Top Down
Slow
fast
What ever your flavor have fun!

New guy here. For 2014 I've set my goals quite low to help ensure success .
I've joined this forum, that's been a huge help, and am very grateful.
Next step, purchase a Crossfire. Once I do, I'll be sure to post pictures and my impressions. Perhaps they will help in some small way.
John
