that would be terrific! many like me will be able to have a much needed rear view.
and thanks for the data on the amps.
now to learn how to squeeze the wire from the fuses panel to the rear.

There are other options, you could use one of these fuse taps and take power from the switched radio fuse in the fuse box under the hood, drivers' side. YOu can get them at any auto parts store, they call it a "fuse tap".

The radio has two fuses, one is on battery, you don't want that - the other is on switched power with the key. Using a stiff rod, you can fish the wire thru the back of the fuse box, and it will come out behind the little door on the driver's end of the dash -where the fuses for all the lights are. This is the "Illumination Control Module". (DO NOT try to use any fuse in THAT box, they are energized by the light switch.)
i still am trying to figure out how and where to fish that wire. any chance to show a pic ? thanks

so far i have identified #31 for glove box/cigarette lighter as switched so that is the 1 that i could use.
. but i have the doubt of what capacity fuses to install.
this video tells (at about 7 minutes) that the upper fuse has to be higher capacity. what can you tell about this?
https://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&e...KxtAaho6GgCw26
thanks.

I currently drive 2 different things off the glove box light / cigarette lighter circuit :
Garmin GPS and Kenwood GMRS/FRS radio, no problem with original rated fuse.

Fuse 31 IS a good source of switched ignition. The camera would run fine on a 5 amp, probable a 3 amp.
You can fish the wire thru the back of the fuse box, it will come out behind the fuse panel for the lights (driver's end of dash) and you can take it from there.

If this is too frustrating, you can always take it to a car audio shop and get them to wire it up, if you have the rest of it installed, I'd think they'd only charge $25 or so.
A full install would probably run $50-60 or so.

dear polite and helpful friends:
somehow comes to mind a thought about human quality.
once an old sage told me:
"is useless trying to explain what human quality is;
if you have it, you know what it is;
if you dont have it, you will never know what it is"

after trying several, ended up using this camera: https://www.wish.com/product/5d80a3a..._wcB&share=web

all the features are:
1-is easier to install: from the mirror just 1 wire to the camera and another to the cigarette lighter;
2-it can change instantly to rear view mirror;
3-it fits on the mirror, so you dont have anything blocking the view;
4-it also has other features, like front view camera that films whatever;
5-the quality of the image is great.

location, location...
yesterday it hit 40f...and the mirror fell!
i park outdoors under the sun, and when we got a record temp, the adhesive that keeps the mirror (and now also the camera with an extra mirror) gave up and the things fell. no damage, but this gave me the opportunity to evaluate the location. with the help of my son, we tried as many places as could fit, and reached a position where my eyes are as close as possible to the point where am aiming regularly, so takes the minimum distance to watch the rear camera image. it is just at the lower edge of the windshield, a little bit to the left of the center. will try to bring a pic soon.
but it works like a charm. and running the wiring is even easier.
try playing with the best place to fit your style.

a matter of perspective:
with all these mirrors, as they are not flat, things look further, so i ordered 1 that is flat, so the view is real. whenever i get it will install at the upper right corner and see how things look. this will be of particular benefit when i have to park in reverse. will tell.
if it works as expected, i may order another 1 for the upper left corner too.
