Question Pressing the remote once unlocks all doors and the tailgate...

Previously, pressing the button on the remote would unlock the driver's door, and pressing the remote a second time would unlock the passenger door and the tailgate.
However, a few days ago, this changed – now, pressing the remote once unlocks all doors and the tailgate.

Do you have any idea what could have caused this change and how to restore it to its original state?

I now know how to restore this setting. I have to press both buttons on the remote simultaneously and hold them for a few seconds.
Maybe this will be useful to someone.

But I still don't know what caused the door opening method to change to simultaneous.

I do. That function resides in a memory location in the CLP/SSM module. One of two things happened:

1) A component glitch corrupted the memory in the SSM or a B+ power feed to the module was "shaky" which corrupted that memory location.
2) The SKREEM glitched and send the "dual push" signal to the CCM due to RF noise, interference, a SKREEM component glitch or a "shaky" B+ feed to the SKREEM.

If this happens again (and even if it does not) I'd ask myself:
How old is my battery? (48 months is battery replacement time, "testing" the battery won't reveal what capacitive reactance the battery has - which is the attribute of a storage battery that matters here)
Are my battery connections clean and tight?
Have I done James' grounding mod (for more stable B+ power in the car)?

James' mod is here:

@Myopic I HATE to say this, but there is an OUTSIDE chance this is an early warning that the CLP/SSM is taking on damage from water intrusion. I REALLY don't think so, but we've seen a lot of issues with water getting into the right rear well or the lower trunk from various sources.

You MIGHT consider pulling the CLP/SSM out and unplugging every connector - do you see moisture? Green or white corrosion on any connectors or connector pins?
If so, I'd find the source of water instrusion and start looking for a replacement CLP/SSM and the last 2-3 feet of that wiring harness. NO new parts are out there, ya gotta find a "parts car".

Just an outside thought....

I seem to remember somewhere, that if you disconnect the car battery OR pull the wrong fuse, that system resets. The owners manual tells you how to configure it to either one press and drivers door opens, OR two presses will open both doors, hatch/gas tank cap cover (coupe). So, any chance a fuse or the battery was cut from powering that portion of your car?
