Yea, well, I'm not woman-savvy. Not sure which knowledge is more important in today's world.

Hi, just fitted 2 x 220uF caps in the doors and very pleased with the result. I have 2 spare and happy to post to a fellow Crossfirer free. Send address and I'll post. I may ask for some payment if posting out of UK is expensive.

220uF 100V Non Polarized Capacitor 027 368 | eBay

Best to use non-polorized, this way you cannot get them backwards.

I agree.
Oops! I forgot I did replace the head unit.

The best mods are replacing the NA with an SRT or better yet getting a V-8.

The mod should be renamed to "Oops I forgot to replace the head unit."

Coupe has a Clarion - Wife's roadster has a Kenwood - and actually think I'm going to just keep the Nav unit in my roadster.

Is it just me or does the Nav unit seem to sound a little better than the standard units ?

Well another happy x-fire owner with cleaner front speaker output and better sub-woofer bass.

Because less bass is going to the front lower speakers you are able to increase bass level and volume which in turn drives the sub-woofer more. For us the balance is just right now where previously the fronts would start to distort or sound muddy and little could be heard from the sub-woofers.

We fitted 330uF 35V capacitors which we got via Amazon

1x UVP1V331MHD Capacitor electrolytic bipolar THT 330uF 35V Ø12.5x20mm: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools 1x UVP1V331MHD Capacitor electrolytic bipolar THT 330uF 35V Ø12.5x20mm: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools

Thanks to everyone who added to this thread, was a quick and easy job, in fact it to longer to read this thread than it took to fit them!

We decided to use spade connectors so that we could remove if we didn't like what we heard, wasn't necessary.

Make sure the caps you buy are non-polarized, your dealing with an A/C sine wave, you have to have them properly polarized otherwise they sound lifeless.

Hey George, how can they be 'properly polarized' if they are 'non polarized' ?

OK, for kicks, I read/skimmed through the first 15 pages of this looking for details from people that tried more than 1 setting, the consensus seems to be 270 or 330. I am looking for more nuggets buried in there and was considering a DPDT switch for testing stock/capped, but might just go straight for the 270s.
maxhichon, do you still have sets to sell? If not I will just order some today.
I haven't bothered because I need the bass up front since my subs aren't working, but I think I found that cause.
