P0341 Camshaft postition sensor bad?
Cedar, I'm having the identical problem. I bought another camshaft position sensor but haven't had the time to install it yet. Had a mechanic replace the crankshaft position sensor and check out the RCM, which came back good.
Have you had any luck fixing the problem yet?

I posted a few weeks ago. Same problem here.
I replaced the battery, I replaced the crankshaft sensor which is a pain to remove and install.
I replaced the Mass Air flow sensor
I need some help about the fuel filter.
It was changed by a mechanic a few weeks ago but I would like some pictures that I can compare and make sure it was done correctly.
I will change the camshaft sensor asap
Any help, comments, advises are always helpful and welcome...
Thanks for your time,
Max

Looking at engine from the front, it is #1 on the passenger side head secured by 1 torx bolt ( #2 ) just to the left of the metal bracket.

While it wasn't the camshaft code, apparently my problem seems more common as I had a bad Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) code. Finally got it out - rather pissy to get at. Not sure if my fingers are too fat, too short, etc. but I couldn't get the electrical connector loose without removing the small heat shield. With the shield in place, I couldn't get to the CPS and exert enough force to release the connector. Once I got that thing off, I could grip the connector with enough force to release it. Rest of removal was straight forward per the link. Other slight difference was I didn't need a flex joint to get at the small bolt that holds on the CPS, just a short extension and 1/4 drive ratchet.
Question is what is the best source for this thing? The MB part is made by Bosch. Who makes the sensors from the Advance/AutoZone/NAPA's of the world? Is it worth while to get an OEM part?
Where ever I have to get it, sure hope that it is the culprit. Car has cut off twicet now galdarnit. Really annoying in the extreme.

I do have to chime in though, it is a Bosch part that left me stranded ! My old MX5 has mainly Mitsubishi electronics. While I've changed the engine, at 21 years and 291k miles, all sensors, coils, ignitor, etc are original !
Oh yeah, where in heck is 43° 52' North, 79° 52' West, Elev 289m? Need more detail - Minutes won't do. Need location down to the seconds and tenths of seconds. Here in Carolina we don't do m elevations. We got us those old foots. We be lower than you, about 650' msl.

Hey thanks for the tip and link. The $45 with free shipping is pretty good. Just ordered the thing. BTW, are you familiar with this company? I used to live in Charlotte, and there was a VW parts store/garage I did a lot of business with. Can't remember the owners name, but his nickname was "German Joe". This isn't by chance the same outfit that expanded over the years?

The minus sign makes a few miles difference. LOL
Seems I lied. My son reminded me that we had upgraded my MX5 this summer with a MegaSquirt 2 ecu. This required a new variable Throttle Position Sensor, wide band O2 and a new (GM) air temp sensor. Of course, non of the parts replaced had failed - just were needed as part of the programmable ecu installation. I guess the only electronics left is the ignitor and coil pack.
Seems you might be able to see the CN tower from your place, eh? I bought my second Miata from a UK gent living in Cambridge back in 96, which also seems to be in the neighborhood.
While I am waiting on my sensor, I'm pulling the ecu to get at the little fan. I'll have to see if German Auto Parts has that thing!
Cheers to you too!
