Project Log: 320 to AMG/SRT Level
I've been on this for a while, and trust me, you should talk to Rob @ NW and Rudy @ AI about injectors. With an ECU Tune, our stock injectors can pump much more than they do and as much as we can use. I think 2K is optimistic, but I'm definitely up for trading ideas and info if you have any luck. My goal is also to do this without Nitrous.

I'm trying without nitrous, the nitrous isn't part of my list on bolt-on performance. It's just for a kick down the track against a friend
You are looking at a wild dual turbo set up on a 112 MB V6. It looks like they reversed the exhaust manifolds to point up.The wrapped pipe is the exhaust pipe going to the turbo. The charge pipe out of the turbo is going to an air to air inter cooler in front of the radiator and condenser with the yellow pipe is bringing the charge to the throttle body with dual blow off valves. Pretty cool set up! I bet he is using an AEM IFC-6 to tune it. Not sure if he is running a MAF. It is not a good idea to blow through the MAF. You want to suck through it if you can't eliminate it.
check out this turbo!

1. Order AK400.
2. Wait 2 weeks for it to show up.
3. Plug the thing in only to find out that a tangled up box of blinking Christmas lights will give you the same result (lights flash but nothing else happens) and have a few drinks relieve the stress.
4. Pay a sload of money to ship it back for a replacement and have a few more drinks to ease the pain of having to pay 60 bucks for return shipping.
5. Wait 3-4 weeks for it to get there and for them to ship you a replacement. Have a few drinks to take your mind off the waiting.
6. Plug the thing in only to find out that a tangled up box of blinking Christmas lights will give you the same result (lights flash but nothing else happens) and have a few drinks because you're sure you've done this step once already.
7. Call company and have them tell you there is nothing wrong and you are not doing something correctly. Have a few drinks to calm your nerves so you don't implode on the person on the other end of the phone because it's 4 in the morning and they can barely speak english.
8. Call credit card company to dispute purchase. Credit card company says they will try but because the seller is located in china, there is a good possibility of not getting your money back. Have a few drinks because you are very frustrated about how ridiculous your credit card companies buyer protection policy is.
9. Give up on seller number one and try another one that claims they are selling a legit one and that all other sellers are selling clones. Pay with PayPal as they say you will have no problem if it doesn't work as advertised. Have a drink to celebrate possibly getting one that works.
10. Wait 2 weeks for third one to show up. Have a few drinks while you anxiously wait it's arrival.
11. Plug the thing in only to find out that a tangled up box of blinking Christmas lights will give you the same result (lights flash but nothing else happens) and have a few drinks because you know with absolute certainty you've already done this step twice now and the third time is supposed to be a charm.
12. File dispute with PayPal, send the POS back and wait 6 weeks for them deny your claim. Drink the whole bottle because you want to punch babies you're so mad.
13. Take second one you got back out of the box, plug it in and try everything that makes sense, doesn't make sense and even a few things that are completely stupid in an attempt to get it to work. Drink while you're doing this so you may accidentally do something you're not trying to do so it might accidently do something it's not currently doing (working).
14. Office-Space the chinese peice of **** out in your back yard while your wife grabs the kids and the cordless phone and heads down stairs to the cellar/basement. Have a few drinks to compose yourself and assure your wife and kids you haven't "lost it".

Lol's, Rudy!! That's too much. I'm just gonna finish my first project, and if I maintain my current pace at school, I will be seeing you within 18 months for a swap. What do you make of the crazy yellow turbo setup in the pic above? I thought boost destroyed these motors.

What I personally think you should do is go to the dollar store, buy a game of twister, write down a couple option, spin the pointer and whatever it lands on, go for it wholeheartedly. At least this way you have a direction to go and can map out your future plans and how to execute them to reach your goals.
It is spark and fuel. Get these things right and keep the boost at a reasonalble level and your engine will be fine. You should be fine at 5-8 lbs of boost 7-8 if you can get the charge air cooled down. This is one reason I like the rear mount turbo as it is easier to keep the charge air cool. Our stock exhaust system while not all that great is well suited for a rear mount turbo.
Its me, "Teck-9" changed my name cuz I don't like that nickname anymore. Now that thats done, time for project updates. Since I decided to see this project through, I went ahead and got my SRT downpipes from Rob. I also got an SRT cat-back to avoid having to have the downpipes fabricated. The cat-back also had dual Bosal mufflers, one of Rob's projects that he couldn't get rid of. What a lucky find for me. Those Bosals have by far the best sound I have ever heard. They do not make the catless exhaust sound rough, its just like a Lamborghini only louder. Needless to say I'm a Bosal fan-boy now and that's all I will use. I even asked Rob to see about Bosals for my Audi because i am addicted to the sound. So with all cats deleted and cut-outs now added to my list of mods, my most recent drive showed a drastic jump in performance as there was 3 times more air and spark and a good bit more fuel going in and now there is a much larger and more free flowing way for it all to get out. Last month I test drove an SRT-6 at the manheim auction in Flatrock that I frequent. After seeing many discouraging posts in this thread, my hopes are much higher as my N/A now feels much more like the SRT-6 that I drove and the gap in speed seems to be shrinking. I have decided to abandon the pulley kit as the 11hp is not worth the risk of throwing off engine harmonics. My remaining mods are a 74mm TB and an Inmotion custom ECU tune. I'm also considering S 430 injectors, but haven't weighed out the risk vs reward for that yet.

Congrats on getting rid of the previous name, though i'm sure there is a way to change the name in your profile. Maybe a mod or Admin can help with that?
Anyway, I'm not sure about the S430 injectors, but I think just going one spec higher on the injectors would be all that you would ever need.
Also, I believe the engine is internally balanced, so I don't believe that changing the drive pulleys on this engine would have a long term detrimental effect, just don't go swapping out the dual mass flywheel for a single mass flywheel, if your car is a manual. Porsche engines have been known to have their crankshafts actually break in half due to the negative harmonics that are no longer being absorbed by the swap.
I'm looking forward to the day when you post up a dyno printout of all your mods.
Then we would need to find you someone on the forum with an SRT-6 that is in stock form (or can be switched to stock) to do a couple runs against, at a track.
BC.

If I do not succeed, a set of Kleemann camshafts and a port and polish (P and P) of the heads and intake manifold will send me well over the goal.
......and the budget. After I finish this project, I want to swap a 3.7 in as it is plug and play then do P and P's and camshafts. I'd also like to try and stroke it out to over the 4 liter mark. I want to stick with a V6. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure our stock weight distribution is near perfect and I'd like to keep it that way. I do want to get a Porsche 928 for a project soon as well, so I'm going to be very busy in my garage this summer. I feel like working on an old car in my back yard and drinking with friends (if I had any) is a box I need to check.

New updates on the project. Rob @ NW found me an Evosport pulley kit, so I will be doing that and the Inmotion custom ECU tune together this week when I get back from Chicago. After that , I will start thinking about making a pass to see where my time is. If I'm still short, I will look for the 74mm TB and run wideband for better tuning. I will be right around 3 grand at that point. If I can come within a half a second of a stock SRT-6 or any where in the 13's, I will consider this a major success. Win or lose, I will look to port and polish and teflon coat heads and mannies, oil catch can, ground kit, and later, kleemann cams, and possibly look to Rob for custom headers. Either way, the car is coming along VERY nicely and I am very happy with what I have done so far.

Thanks guys, I dropped my ECU off today and gave the final word on the Pulley kit. I will try to add a 74 mm TB soon, but I don't think its detrimental. This is the bolt-on phase. When I get finished with school I will start rebuilding and at that point I will be dropping a-lot into the car having cams, internals, and possibly stroked by Rob and hopefully he can then mass produce those mods. That a perfect world, but the now is looking pretty nice. Our stock mannys are pretty beefy, so thermal coating is the best idea. I wasn't sure how a tune can vary depending on what the owner wants. I think you can tune cars to be slower if you want fuel mileage. This is what I sent to Inmotion
List of Modifications:
Needswings Teflon Velocity Coated Dual Cold Air Intake With Larger K&N Filters
Bosche Updated Fuel Filter/Regulator
Magnecor KV85 Competition Plug Wires
NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs One Heat Range Colder
Needswings 304 Stainles Steel SRT Downpipes With Cut-outs And No Catalytic Converters
SRT-6 Cat-back With Dual Bosal Mufflers
Evosport Under-drive Pulley Kit
Requests:
I'm not sure what goes into a tune, but I would like a tune exclusively for the most performance possible without harming the car or engine, I have not the slightest concern for fuel efficiency. I would like shift points reworked to improve acceleration and throttle response as much as possible. I also would like the top speed governor removed for good and the rev limiter raised to as high as possible while keeping the engine safe. I am hoping for at least 6325RPM's if the engine can take it. I would also like the rev limiter for park, neutral, etc removed. If possible, I'd like more control and faster response from the auto-manual transmission. I ordered the full custom tune to be sure that all of my bases were covered. I'm eager to see the results, Thanks for your time, Have a good day.

Penny for everybody's thoughts on this. The whole site is pretty good, especially the headers, though our stock manifolds are pretty beefy.
