Default Here I go again...

Question to anyone with ideas...once again my 2004 CrossFire Coupe is stalling and just absolutley dead. A few dash lights come on, but the engine sounds like it is going to turn-over but it doesn't . (brand new battery) and RCM repair. The first thing in the mornings the vehicle starts and then after about 30 minutes it just dies. Then the engine will not turn over. There are no strange sounds like ticking or clicking or engine noise, nothing. When you turn key to on the engine will sound like it is going to turn-over but just doesn't quit get there.
Oh my god...I am trying to save this car for my own happiness. Is there an answer.
Thanks

Sounds like a poor ground connection.

3 things that make an engine run... fuel air and spark. if the engine turns over but wont fire it may be a fuel related issue ie: bad fuel pump , filter if your getting fueel it may be a spark related issue ie: plugs fouled coil packs bad or engine way out of timing (jumped timing chain).
if the filters are completely blocked no air

start with the simple start the car and let it run until it dies. then turn on the key and crack open the bleeder at the end of the injector rail. if fuel comes out that eliminates the fuel issues. on to spark then air. are you showing any trouble codes?

As Sparkie says or a bad battery cable, seemingly these get corrosion around the connections and also inside the cable where it can't be seen.
It could be a couple of things at once, does it always start easily and then die?
A better description may be a good thing. You know exactly what happens but no one else does.

The car starts first thing everyday, runs a short while and dies. Seems like battery but engine still cranks but will not restart. Thanks for the fuel issue lessons. process of elimination. Thanks!

If it cranks over with the starter but does not start, It could be the cps sensor.

Maybe someone can clarify on a possible battery cable issue...???

If this was at intermittant fault, once the car first started, wouldn't the car run until the gas ran out...???

After the car was running, couldn't you actually disconnect the battery cable and it would continue running on power from the alternator.

Am I off the mark on this train of thought...???

Thanx...

that was the way on the older diesel engines because they ran on compression rather than spark.
if you dont have a battery to hold the charge the ecu and coil packs would drain the battery long beofre the engine runs out of gas. alternator charges the battery but doesnt power the electricals the battery does

Got it...

Just thought that in order to keep an alternator charge on the battery, the battery would have to sit in parallel with the volt regulator, if thats the case, your passing power onto the cars electrical system, (from the alternator).

But that doesn't seem to be the case...

Thanx...

Hey guys. Extending a Thank you to all of you that have responded to my questions. I am learning. New question: I am going to replace the crankshaft position sensor and I just can't spot it in the engine. Does anyone have scematics or engine guide or can someone tell me where this sensor is? Maybe I should just download a manual!
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys. pizza guy has been more than helpful!
