Exclamation When this forum dies move to x-fire-car.com

If this forum goes dead on March 19th as expected due to MIghtyjr letting domain name lapse, I suggest we all move to the site listed in title of this thread with the dashes removed. Mighty has a filter on other sites names in this one so in case he * out the name it is x-f-i-r-e-c-a-r-.-c-o-m. If there is a better site we can go there, but there are a few members of this site that go there already like andrew, leebea and rabitdroodle. we have a great site here and it will be a shame if we lose all the info that is in this site already, fluegelboy has voluteered to take over hosting the site. The unfortunate thing is that many of our members will come to this site after the 19th of march and won't know where we or the site went. It would be great if we could PM (private message) all the members to meet at the other site. Anyone know how to do that? Let's keep the group together!!! PLEASE NO ONE TELL BULLSEYE WHERE WE WENT!! lol

I PM'd the owner of the x-fire-car site and he responded that he doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle new members and can't afford it. I guess it's flugelboy's site on the other thread talking about the end of this site.

I just tried registering there now, but the board administer is not accepting new registrations at the moment. Hopefully that changes soon.

I like this idea as an interim measure:

The site is located at http://beta.chadwhite.com

Unfortunately, due the increase in registrations (size and broadband considerations) the x-f- owner decided to block temporarily registrations until the situation is resolved here. Be patient if you are looking for a new home.

Personally, I enjoyed most of my time here. I met many terrific people with whom many I say in contact. I decided several months ago, however, that I would only post here on rare occassions - like now - when I feel I had something important to add. If this forum does die I wish all the members good luck in finding a new home. Thank you all for helping me to buy this wonderful automobile. And yes I am still the only XF driving in Seoul, Korea.

Best to all,

Keith Johnston
Keith - It was very nice of you to be kind to the idiot who ran X-F-I-R-E-C-A-R - but he has shown his true colors - and it appears he shut that site down without any warning! (And that was after giving his word that he would not shut it down without warning).

I guess when you are nice to a jackass, you get kicked every time! (hahaha - I guess AJ was really JA)!

Keith,
As always, you have summed it up with class and integrity.
I would suggest a nice single malt to help dissipate the anger, and brighten the rest of the day (evening)? It looks like we all have a few good options for a new cybercommunity. Let the New Age begin!
Rgds,
Chris

Keith - You are always so kind. I do think you are wrong about one of your statements, however. It was an easy decision for him....he has been threatening (me) to do it for months. The fact that there was so much activity and a new site just gave him the easy out.

You know I will help you out in your "salvage" any way I can....let me know!

This is a coincidence ... but it is a true coincidence. My Boss emailed this to me and it was in my "inbox" when I came to work this morning.

"The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant."

Too bad JA did not live by this thought.

Keith - see ya on the "flip side"!! Thanks

I just signed up but it's not very good. It's packed full of adds and clutter but I guess it's better than nothing. I couldn't use any of my standard passwords or user names for some reason. If something better comes along please let me know.

Yes the CF YAHOO sight is cluttered BUT no one is going to shut it down and you can receive the messages by email. On second thought that might not be such a good idea if we get a lot of trafic.

I'm not so sure I want my email address out there where just anyone can get it. I hate spam and wasting time filtering my email. I kind of like the pm process on this site.
This site: http://beta.chadwhite.com is very similar to this one.
Who is AJ ? I missed something.

i am members in two groups at yahoo, its not as good as this but it does allow member communication. perhaps we can use it until somthing better happens. at least we can keep in touch, use your yahoo.com address and you will never get junk mail in your home address.

Ha Irafatsar

This has nothing to do with this topic but I thought you might like the 3 pictures I just posted on my sight. I took these a couple years ago at our local track.
