If you leave the key on and wait 20 seconds:

The engine fan warps up to full speed - RCM's "engine control relay" output is absent, resolder and/or change the EC relay on the RCM.

The engine fan does not run at high speed - CPS

Or it could be a zillion other things, but the above is what is usually is.

I have heard the fan cutting completely off when im at idle and sounds like the car will cut off.

Mine was idling down at stop light until got the shakes. Replaced the MAF and issue has gone away.

Thanks for this thread guys.

I am having a similar problem. Car intermittently dies when coming down from highway speeds either at a stop light or when traffic stops. Happens about once a month or so, but seems to be getting more frequent. Acceleration is also feeling rough. Feels to me like she is not getting a good air to gas ratio or something. Power is still there for the most part, but feels "stuttery". Definitely not feeling 100%.

I have cleaned and oiled my K&N air filters, did a throttle reset, replaced the CPS and got new plugs/wires. Still having the issue though.

I guess I will check the solder connections on the RCM ECR and possibly get a new MAF.

Feel free to share any other ideas.
Thanks,
XFireCrazy!

My car would die at traffic lights, when heat would build up at the CPS with no air circulation. After a bit the car would start and run just fine. Replaced CPS and fine. The CPS on these cars are in a bad location for heat.

Oops. I wrote that I changed out the PCM, but I meant the CPS. Fixed my original post.

Then again, it was a while ago that I replaced that part. I may try another one if nothing else works.

Oh, I also did the throttle reset as well with no luck in fixing the problem. I'll add that tidbit to my original post as well.
