5 Star fraud?
Well my salesman tells me after I buy my Crossfire I will be getting a Chrysler survey in the mail. He wants me to come in with it so he can help me fill it out because he's in a "contest". For my cooperation he said he will give me a car cleaning kit. So it seems this dealer buys or bribes to get and maintain it's 5 Star rating...
I'd rather do an honest survey than get a car cleaning kit.
Maybe for a free oil change...

As a former salesman for chrysler I know a lil about these. And I don't think chrysler would like hearing dealers "helping" complete the survey and giving gifts in return. The dealerships rely on these and an survey that is not a 100% satisfaction is a failure. And these surveys do have a large impact on the business/company. Fill it out on your own. If the guy was a good salesman he shouldn't have to worry about not getting a perfect score. Just for the fact that you were bribed I wouldn't give a perfect score. And a line that I would always use somewhere along the lines during the end of the process/transaction, is explain that they will be getting a survey from chrysler (and the auto group i worked for) and ask "was there anything that they were not satisfied with that I could do to ensure a perfect score. If there was any problems, solve them and your good to go. Free oil change? I already get those. Just have to negotiate it in.
Two of the dealerships that I have dealt with here in Florida are the same way...they want to coach you on filling out the survey. It really is a shame that they do not put the same kind of effort in taking care of those things that would ensure they get a good rating. That is why the whole 5 Star dealership thing is such a big joke. Just who are they kidding???
I had the same thing happen at Landmark Chevrolet (largest Chevy dealer in the country). They asked me to bring in the survey from GM and they would give me a $50 gift certificate (or maybe it was a $100 gift certificate). I completed the survey and mailed it to GM.
Unfortunately happens all the time and not only with Chrysler...My old Merc. dealership in Tampa used to always offer me "goodies" for good scores and they would even keep track of which customers gave them the highest marks...

Mine is a good dealer and got a good result. Without even mention such thing like hoping for a good score or anything. He knows what he does.
Fill out the survey on your own! That's what it's for. If there's a weak point - he should work on it.
Tell him to give you a SRT6 for 30k OTD!
Even Lexus does the survey thing free tank of gas they don't want you to throw it out! That's from Factory to sales not just the dealers!!!

I love it. It drives like a dream. The main reason I got it was so I could have a family vehicle as well as a pickup in one vehicle. It seats 5 very comfortably and I like the in-bed trunk. I've had a pickup for 30+ years and couldn't see being without one. Having the Ridgeline is making it possible for me to shop around for a toy, that is why I've been monitoring this site for awhile. I really like the looks of the Crossfire but I'm still not sure that is the way I want to go. Most of the comments on this board are very positive about the Crossfire but some comments/issues are making me proceed slowly. I'm also looking at the new MX5, Z4 or maybe an SLK (two or three years old). Whatever I get, I'm leaning toward a hardtop coupe or at least a hardtop option.

I had a GSX Eclipse and a 3000 VR4 in the early/mid '90's, not what I'm looking for now. Also had a Vette back in the '80's (older model). What I'm looking for is a 2-seater new or practically new that I can use as a toy. Have also looked at the 350Z. I didn't know that the S2000 was coming out with a hardtop coupe. I was under the impression that the S2000 was going to be discontinued in '06 or '07. Don't like the Solstice but the Sky does look good.
http://www.fast-autos.net/featurecar...top/index.html Here's a link that should tell you most that you would want to know about the s2000. I never read the article until now, just saw the title "hardtop S2000" appears the hardtop is kind of an aftermarket style from honda though. Which should eliminate any quality doubts.
Just take the survey in and fill it out the way you think they should be rated and get the car cleaning kit as well. Just be honest in the survey that will make them think twice about giving away gifts for good marks!
I liked the Ridgeline but, as a pick-up no it's bed is too small and the sides are too high! If I only needed that much bed, I'd just buy a Magnum!
As for the survey, I always send them back myself!

try to stay on topic here guys.
well as a former chrysler sales person I can relate to this subject. his intentions are good but he went about it the wrong way. maybe his management made him phrase it that way.
these surveys are VERY serious and troublesome to sales guys. i was very good and thorough during the sales process and never missed a beat, but sometimes after the customer pulls away in their new car you start too worried whether they are as happy as they seem.
it could be the littlest thing or maybe a misunderstanding about something and the customer doesn't bring it to the attention to his or her sales person and they stew on it and just take out all their frustrations ON the survey... and if you get blasted on the survey you lose your certification and if that happens it costs the sales guy lots of money over the course of the whole year.
all the customer had to do is call me and ask for help with the issue and i would have helped and everything would have been OK
so what i say at the end of delivery is... you will be getting a survey in the mail and it will ask you all kinds of questions about the dealership and myself. the questions on the back directly pertain to ME as a certified sales person. if you don't feel comfortable marking completely satisfied or very satisfied, give me a call and i'll make it right. all while laughing and joking,
this takes a huge weight off the customers shoulders and they sometimes say...well, there is this one thing and its resolved then and there.
i have helped my dealership achieve its ELITE 5 star status over the course of the 2 years i was there...
so to answer any ones questions about FIVE STAR... its not a joke.
you can ask me how to tell your sales person that you are not happy with an issue or just how to phrase nicely so he will be more than happy to help you.

What that involves is communication and my dealer was absolutely lacking in it. He didn't know squat about the car - after ten minutes with the owner's manual I knew more about it than he did. I wouldn't even mind if he said "I don't know", but he tried to BS me on a couple of issues.
Service wise - they've been pretty OK - not great. The body shop guy is terrific - there was s ding in the bumper and he was meticulous about getting it out. I called about the fogging headlight deal and they said - bring it in and if we need parts we'll order them, instead of getting the kit when there is a TSB. I know I'm going to leave it there all day Thursday and then have to bring it back in a month when they get the parts...
I didn't trash them on the evaluation, but I didn't give them a gift, either...
