Don't count Dan or Gary or Jim or boiler or Howard or Kim or Jane out. All are more than capable of slaughtering the dragon.

I was going to try to make it for Saturday... but Now I have to work and can't get out of it...

That would keep you from work, but all of us at the Dragon have had it and are immune.

Miss him? She might pay for your trip... Won't be the same without him....This will probably be my last one for awhile...thinking of doing something else with cars....but, I will enjoy this trip for sure...

 

NOW NOW NOW !!!!!!!! let not go postal here DOC LOL , We like your company to !!!! you stll need to come to the Dragon and have some fun with all your old freinds , I know times change but through the yrs coming to this meet as turn into more about seeing old freinds and having fun, then cars for me anyway ,see this what happen at the Dragon meets you think that your coming for the Car or Crossfire ( Great CAR ) but what happen is you make life long freinds and want to come back to see them , So for all you new one coming BEWARE , there are some good people behind those Crossfire,s

 

Hell, I can always see you....I'm down there enough....lol. No, just don't seem to have the time anymore for these spring and fall events. Been vacationing in Jan. or Feb....lately...the only time we aren't all that busy at work. Spring is planting season, busy as busy can be, fall is harvest season, busy busy as well.... Mid summer, we were still busy....so winter is about it right now... And, I don't mind finding that island in Jan...but it is so expensive...it may cut into the short trips...we shall see...getting older you know...

You couldn't have explained this any better and you echo my very thoughts in your post !!!
My first time at the dragon gtg was spring of 2008 and I have been to every spring and fall since.
The only one I wasn't at was the very first one in fall 2007

This will be my 10th time coming down from Chicago and I can't imagine missing even one of these meets.
Heck last fall I drove down 10 hours with crutches with me after a knee surgery which I had not fully recovered from at the time.
Told my doctor I wouldn't t miss it and I didn't !!

As far as my job I have been fortunate to have flexibility to make these long weekend trips and they are aware of how important it is to me to attend both every year.
Although my wife of 16 years now has never come with me, I have her full support and she appreciates my enthusiasm with this forum and more so especially this meet.

The past few years most of you know I have flown in for the spring meet and drove 70 minutes from Knoxville airport in a rental car just to be with my friends.
You don't need a Crossfire to have fun with your friends after you have been to this wonderful place this many times.
Always a friend and a passenger seat to ride shotgun and still have a great time.

I will always drive down in the fall and have plans to continue to put together the FALL Dragon GTG for many years to come just as I have plans to replace my current 04 Coupe with a newer lower mileage roadster with a 6 speed manual in a few years from now.

So with all this being said...I'm looking forward to seeing friends and meeting new ones for many more years here
and the weather is looking great for next weekend.

FYI - I will have 2 extra radios available for cheap if anyone wants to buy some at the Dragon.

They are yellow Motorola ones that you can't miss. I am selling them as I am getting some higher powered Midland one's due to I usually end up leading my groups and need to be able to reach out to as many as possible as I call out obstances/debris/etc.

So, if you are interested, please talk to PizzaGuy or shoot me a PM and we can work the exchange once there. I will be driving in the last leg with PizzaGuy Thursday afternoon and will be there through mid day Sunday.

 

We are still slowly getting last minute people coming out of the wood work and far less attrition that we had thought. We are thinking we could break 100 cars when it's all said and done. It's going to be exciting for sure!
