New 2 forum
Greetings. We purchased a 2005 Crossfire roadster in Dec 2007. It had all of 1962 miles on it and we look forward to warmer days when we can cruise in the blue. But it has been having troubles. While still at the Chrysler dealer they had battery problems and the spoiler seems to have a mind of its own. We've put a nominal 82 miles on the vehicle. After being parked for several days the battery has drained twice. The dealer informs us that the trunk was not latched (even though it does appear latched) and the trunk light drained the battery. They also say this causes the spoiler to activate out of norm. Anyone here have any input to help me deal with this situation?
It the light in the trunk ,That not truning off If the trunk lid is not close all the way it stays on . Just have them remove the light you well never need it , I replace one batt. myself , OH ! Welcome to the Crossfireforum !
Welcome! My 04 had a battery drain problem that was never found. The spoiler would go up every time it screwed up. It resets after you start and stop it. Hope they find your problem. I think mine finally ended up being the battery itself, one cell was empty of water.I traded it so am not sure.
I just retrieved the beast from the dealer. They assured me that this was what they found. They traced the DC current draw to a minimally open deck lid and once corrected the draw was eliminated. Oddly there is no trunk deck lid "open" indicator warning light in the cockpit. They had replaced the battery once already so I know the problem cannot be sourced there. I'll just have to wait and see what transpires. I'll pay particular attention to the deck lid to be certain it is secured. Que sera sera.
If your trunk is not properly closed the interior lights will also stay on.........when locking your car make sure the interior lights shut off. If they donot shut off after a minute or so then the trunk (or door) is not properly closed.

After awhile you will know if you've closed your hatch completely just by the sound it makes slamming down. But if in doubt, just pull up on the hatch after closing it. If the hatch is not fully closed it will shift upward ever so slightly.
Davy10,
Welcome to the forum. I hope you resolve the issues you are having with your Crossfire. I'm sure once this is fixed you will love the car and drive it many happy miles.

Thnx to everyone for the information and the warm reception. So far, so good with the beast. The trunk deck lid does require a solid closure to latch properly. We're still getting familiar with this car and we hope this annoyance is over with. Thnx again.
I bought a used Crossfire coupe 2004 with 60K miles abuout a week ago. It runs fine and everything was working as expected. However, this weekend I worked on the hatch lid to stop the loud rattling noise. I adjusted the latch by moving is down. This was an effort to make the hatch fit tighter. It didn't stop the rattle. So I added some pads to to the areas on the body where the hatch close bumpers strike. It solve the rattling problem. I don't know if it's related; but now the interior lights are not working properly. With the switch in the door activatived position. The ligthts stay on with the door open or closed.

I removed the padding and the lights still don't work properly. Today I turned the door on/off to on, closed the doors (interior lights still on) opened the hatch and activated the hatch latch manually. Nothing changed. interior lights stay on no matter if the door is closed or open. Also I made sure the interior light on/off switch is off.
