Trunk Lid Jammed
Thanks, TR and I agree on the Emergency Release cam.
I'm trying to contribute, guys. But sometimes I go too far, too fast. And not only with women, so it seems. (Thought I'd say it before Beaner did.

They were pretty plain in the fact that we were paying the labor even if they couldn't get the trunk opened, plus an additional 90 dollars diagnostic charge. plus what ever parts were needed of course.
Mercifully it didn't come to that. My husband said I should drive my car back to the dealership and tell them their mechanic should sign up for this forum!!
Pizzaguy, there are two photos that show the cable release in the roadster trunk and they both seem to show the cable in a different spot. I will put your revised article in the Index of Crossfire problems but I would like to know how the cable would be hooked in your photo if the right hand tag lite was removed. Maybe I'm missing something.

I dont get it, either! I'd say to remove the LEFT light! Ask the original poster with the Blue Roadster about it - cause I don't get it, either.
HEY, there is no motor in the blue car - SRT maybe?????

Not sure about the layout on the n/a but on my car srt the cable looped around on the right side of trunk , I don't have a chrysler dealer within 100 miles around me that has a mechanic that seems to know anything about these cars
I bought the shop manuals and sat down and started reading , and I understand about the dealers charging a arm and leg and still screwing things up while trying to guess fix a problem ....... I really enjoy owning this car also but dealing with dealers is worse than a sharp stick in the eye sometimes.......This forum is the first and best outlet for info when it comes to problem solving..one could imagine what kind of damage they would do going thru the panel behind the seat thru the top mechanisim ...

If I did the Emergency Release mod, and the Electric Cam mod, would I then only be at the mercy of a Pneumatic Air Unlock...???
(That's a question...Not a Statement...!!!).
I thought only the possibilities of intermittant Siren issues would keep me awake at nights, I've now added a possible jammed Trunklid to my paranoia...lol...

The cable on your car goes in the opposite direction to the cable on Pizzguys.
I do not have a roadster so I cannot check. Your cable seems tied to the hood, Pizzaguys goes to the handle inside the trunk.
Pizzaguy is confused as well.
i had my cable completely disconnected from the handle in this picture and the cover completely off ,i stuck it in the hole to hold it out of the way while i was wiring the lights and mounting the capacitors.
OK, so it is the same as the na as we assumed. Pizzaguy and I thought that you would remove the left hand (D/side) tag light and hook onto the release cable not the right hand cable as you said in this post in "Chrysler Dealership can't open trunk".
I would just like this to be clarified thats all.

You could see a white (I think he said piece of plastic) accordian shaped (I am assuming something ribbed) thing that you could tell was supposed to slide, the took a screw driver and moved it out of the way. Now I don't know if he pushed it left or right, but i am assuming its obvious, and since it was something you could actually see, I guess you could tell which way it went. Whether that white part is part of the emergency release, the pneumatic lock or the electric lock I can't tell you. I just know, once he slid it the trunk opened!! Oh and I have a 2006 Roadster Limited.
I think it was, 180. See, I took my tag light out, well, off - but the socket assembly would not come out! Seems like it's glued/hard seated in there! I thought the tag light was a dead end, I guess not.
That is the electric lock that locks the trunk for the 23 seconds that the top is going up or down. It is NOT the pneumatic lock that operates off the key fob.
The plunger inside the accordian thing does not always retract into the "unlocked" position after the top is done moving - which leads to all sorts of problems! We take off the black end thingy to disable the lock and solve the problem. You cannot simply take the whole assembly out, as it indicates a locked condition to the electronics of the car - enabling the top to operate.
