Is the top window problem on '05's only?
From reading the various threads on the problem with the convertible top window, i have gotten the impression that it is mostly with the 2005 model year. Is this true? Have any owners with 2006's or '07's had the same problem?
No, it's pretty widespread between all years but 2005 was the first year they came out and so they have been out the longest. It also has to do with the climate the care is located in. Those in warmer states like FL, TX and AZ tend to exhibit it more often than cars in MN, WI, IL do.
There is a member here by the screen name tighed1 that has a repair how-to. Do a search for top fix with his screen name and you'll find it right away.
Good luck and take care

I seriously doubt the problem came to Chrysler's attention before they stopped manufacturing XFs, so the problem will manifest it self for all years. The 2005s are the oldest in service, so they will experience the problem first. Having said that, I live is MI and keep my roadster garaged year-round and in hibernation for the winter, so I have not seen any problems with the top or rear window.
I only use my top twice a year. Once to put it down in the Spring and once to put it up in the Fall. Really don't know if it is a humidity or UV or heat or combination of all three. Maybe usage has something to do with it also. I notice when I drive to Phoenix nobody who has a convertable has the top down in the summer. Tops down seems to be reserved for Fall, Winter and early Spring. In Arizona those that keep their tops up have problems with UV rather then humidity but heat could be an issue at 120 degrees. My summers are about 75 to 85 but then again I live in the mountains of Arizona at 7000 MSL. I have never seen any correlation between these factors to determine why the problems are happening with the back window falling out.
Are you refering to the back window problem or the tearing or both? Based on other posts from Europe it appears that the rip is a mechanical defect not an environmentally caused issue.

I have a theory regarding the window seperation. (Based on nothing concrete of course!) With the Top up and the windows down the rear window vibrates rapidly. In Sunny climates where the top is up for protection but the windows are down for airflow. the Heat and Vibration "MAY" lead to weakening of the bonding agent.
Just a thought. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and happy NewYear.

I have a tendency to ride with the windows up and the airconditioning on when I have the top up. If the weather is nice enough to open the windows, the top should be down! This might save me from having to repair or replace a top.
Going on 2 years in Houston and that first summer here was hot as hell.
No issues with the window but It's driven 5k a year and kept in a garage.
