Hey Good Buddies.......has anyone experienced the trunk not unlocking properly?.......mine is doing that....when the top is down, and when the top is put up, it opertes again...isn't consistent just does it sometimes any clues????????????/ Ron
Just got off the phone with service mgr at River Oaks Chrysler here in Houston. Pays, I guess, to bring it in there regularly. Guy recognized me and the car right away. Laughed when I told him the problem. Said he has been hit up with the issue many, many, times over the last 2 years. Meeting with him Wed to show him the car.
Will keep forum updated

Went to the Dealership this AM and met with service mgr. he gave me the # to call at Chrysler
Just got off the phone with them. Service rep, even after I gave her the TSB, said she has no record of that bulletin ! WTF !!
I asked for a supervisor or someone else. Gave her my # and she said someone would be back in touch within 24 hours.
Will write again upon a resolution hopefully.

Well, it looks like we get to join the fun...
DC's back glass fell all most completely out Friday, it hit 108
Hopefully the letter we received will be accepted by the dealership. Going to use the one OKCXFR used, he seemed to be pleased with the work.

When you put the top down, do you let it go until you hear the beep.. ending that operation before beep will not let you open the trunk, because the car still thinks you are still putting the top down...
Friday, 07-20-12, got a call back from Chrysler Customer Service. Nice woman. Was aware of the windshield problem. Quoted me the extended warranty info. Said I just have to bring car to my local dealer, which she knew of all my service visits, and they take care of things from there.
Called dealer, set appt, said they take pics, if all goes as with other cars before, they contact Detroit and order new top
Will write upon progress

Took the Crossfire to the dealership. 10 minutes later tooling down the road. He took pics of the glass and the VIN and said he would give me a call in a few days as to where to deliver the car.
So far, so good....

I contacted dealer on Friday when I came home and found window out at bottom after Northern Virginia heat. Dealer, Fair Oaks Dodge in Chantilly, said TSB did not cover replacement and car was out of warranty (05 with 40K miles). I will be curious how others have fared on this.
I have the car at a quality convertable repair shop for them to reglue the top and window. They have done work for me before on other cars.

Your dealer had no idea what they were talking about...sorry to hear that! You should keep your receipts, in case you get things worked out with Chrysler. I understand that if they don't do the work, they reimburse you...
For the third time my rear window has separated from the canvas. Yes, it is covered under the extended top waranty, but my dealer sez that they no longer can provide the service...... Reason,........ because Chrysler will only pay them or their contactor $125 to put on a new top. Chrysler is trying to get ahold of the dealer to see what the problem is and why they won't cooperate with me and Chrysler.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Not a suprise! In this case Chrysler trying to be the good guy and the stealership is causing issues. Can't we all just get along and work together rather than having a ***** in the mic. Geeze is everything ibecoming too fkg political. And WTH, it may all end in December anyways. LOL
Got the car back last night. If you are in Northern Virginia/Maryland/DC I recommend Lims Custom Top and Upholstery. John Yoon does a lot of high end car car work in this area and has done convertable tops on cars for me before.
He reglued the top and it looks like nothing happened. Very professional work and very good price. $95! Hopefully it will hold up for a while.

I have been reading the previous posts for a few days and now, I have to ask some advice - I need a dealership in the Dallas Fort worth area who has dealt with this problem in the past. I have our car at Meader in Arlington and I have some resistance.
But still nervous about the outcome - it's good to know that several have been approved - disconcerting that several have been denied.
We have to sit back and wait now. (24 hours or something)
IF by chance it does not work, I would like some thoughts on the possibility of the upholstery company solution, glue solution that some are trying, and maybe a good commpany I can TRUST in the DFW area that does replacement tops/repairs.
Thank you so much forum!

I don't think they are replacing the tops. i think they are regluing them. The window is glued to the top and the top does not have any inner layer (like my Corvette top) that keeps the glass from falling out.
I think any convertable top shop that does high end work (Jaguar,Mercedes, Ferrari...) in DFW area could do a good job on your car.

If this is the place off of Tyco Rd in Vienna they are a great place to get work done. I used to work at the flooring company right across the parking lot from them and they do great work. A lot of dealers use them.
Update: Chrysler set me up with Hollywood dealer. They had a top in stock. ( Imagine that) I am taking the car up there at 8 am. They said I would be able to pickup the car in the afternoon. ( Imagine that)
I may have found a decent dealer and I understand they have a real live qualified crossfire mechanic. ( Imagine that)
Bad news.... The dealer is very close to the Hard Rock. (Imagine that)
