Chrysler to Replace '05 Convertible Tops Under TSB - YAHOO!!
Hell, I would have been satisfied if Chrysler had offered to replace my plastic window with the proper glass one...they didn't even offer...
Got a call from Chrysler Regarding my replacement top. Not lucky to find a dealer in stock. My dealer ordered one about 4 weeks back, they said there were 200 on back order. I am now advised by Chrysler that mine should arrive sometime in October.
Gorilla Duct Tape holding it in Place looks terrible.

I arrive at the shop for a 30 minute change trans filter and fluids.. The fluid was not delivered. My daughter picked me up at 7:00. Went to the Hard Rock for dinner. That was fun
On Friday I went to play in a pro am. On my way home with my SRT I hear this sound that I thought was the belt coming apart. I pulled off the side of the turnpike and opened the hood, looked under the car and saw nothing. I drove the next 20 miles apprehensive. I got home and again opened the hood and looked under the rear of the car. Nothing. When I stood up I glanced at the rear window and just shook my head.. What a way to end the week.
Now I didn't mention that my daughter's SRT front bumper was backed into a month ago by a 17 yo while the car was parked at home and dealing with him and his father with no insurance. (Found out today the car was insured because the title was not transfered and the insurance company is sending a check today) Or Sirius/XM tried to bill me $400 for a 2 years contract on a radio I haven't had for 5 years. That took me several hours to straighten out.
So today was a very good day. All positive.
Last week was a biotch.

Hello, Im a new owner of a 2005 crossfire roadster.
My back glass is separating like some of the others.
My dealer says its not covered. I have 56,000 miles, I bought it used in May.
I spoke with Chrysler customer sevice and they say its not covered, the 10yr/100000 mile TSB is # 23-035-11 rev A does not apply to my VIN.
Is there anyone to I can appeal to further or just suck it up and get it fixed on my dime?
Thanks
John

Good luck
Thanks to all of folks who researched and filed complatints about this. My new top has been ordered and will be replaced under the TSB. No drama, noticed the top was seperating on Mnday and TuesdayIi hit google looking for a replacement top and found this page. I read through and called Chrysler. The guy on the phone didn't know anything and transferred me to a woman who was non comittal and she told me to take it to the dealer to b evaluated. Took it in the next day with the email from Chrysler and the TSB number, they took about 25 minutes and told me the top was on order and would be replace on Chrysler's dime. Waiting for the call that the top is in to get it installed. I will post on the install quality when it is done.
Sorry to hear about your bad news but was happy that everything is turning around. Hope your wife is feeling better and your daughter's car is all set.
LMFAO...... I had the worst week last week... On monday wife goes into Hospital... possible appendicitis..... released Wed evening.... Daughter calls me wednesday afternoon and transmission not engaging..... Got car back to the office after removing neg cable. Thursday arranged to have trans fluid changed in Ft. Lauderdale, a 25 min drive. I left the office at 12:50 and arrived at 3:20. Why? After I left the office the trans went into limp mode. I called AAA. That took 45 minutes for the flatbed. About 25 min later on the expressway I hear a pop and we had a flat on the tow truck. Has duals on the rear so another 20 minutes later we continue..... 5 miles and pop.... 2nd tire blows. 20 minutes and I said take the car down off the flatbed....... I put the car in reverse and trans engages and I leave..... It gets better.....not

How many of us are original owners of 2005 roadsters in the +100,000 mile club? Feeling abandonded? Me too.
I guess it's find $3k, or take a chance on 3M Windo-Weld, Rhino Glue CA, Loctite, or a sewn-in plastic replacement. Sux.

Definitely feeing abandoned...not an original owner, though...would have been if I could have afforded to!
Thank you Hollywood Chrysler. I dropped off my SRT roadster at 8 am and picked her up at 4:30 on Thursday. They had a top in stock and did everything in one day. Plus Chrysler gave me a rental car.
Ashley's SRT transmission is working with out any issues. Apparently she just needed a filter and fluid. (The car that is.)
This was a good week.

Wow, I always took a leaky top as a consequence of owning a convertible. Good to hear Chrysler is stepping up to the plate and doing the right thing here...
Since my window fell out a month ago I have been doing a dance with the dealership (Dulles Chrysler) and Chrysler head office. Summary, they won't do anything for me. Chrysler Corp says my VIN isn't on the list of vehicles covered and unless the dealer is willing to do a 'good faith' repair they can't help me.
Contacted the NHTSA and they say the a service bulletin is not a recall, it is just service that needs to be performed and that it is the owners responsibility.
One good outcome, I was torn between buying a Hyundia Veloster and a Dodge Dart as my daily commuter next year and this eliminates Chrysler. Unfortunately my wife bought a Chrysler 200 a couple a few months before this happened. I think it may have to take in for 'warranty' issues every week for the next three years.

I just called Chrysler. Only certain VIN's are covered in 05. My wifes car was not. However, by calling they are opening up a file on the problem. I think everyone who has the problem should call in and open up a file. That is the only way they are going to know the magnitude of the problem. Since the problem now appears to be involving the 06's as well....I have to believe this is an age and heat related failure.
The tops need to be replaced as the windows are not safe at speed! I looked at my Corvette Vert glass window and it is layered between the liner and the outside material. These are just glued onto the fabric. It is a suprisingly cheap quality...especially for German made cars!
Maybe the moderators should make this one giant thread to help the 06 folks out and make sure the information is getting to the whole community.
Bobert!

Keep the pressure on. I did the dance with Chyrsler back in October. went to Hollywood Chrysler. told I wasn't on the list. waited 2 weeks to let my svc mgr see what he could do., Then told to call Chrsler and start a case file. did that. waited a few days and was told sorry. got a little loud and went to 3 different supivisors before I got one who, although was never nice about it, came back with an offer of new top, $500, 1 year warranty, take or leave it. Installed in Nov. Hasnt leaked since.
I couldn't agree more with the thought to keep the pressure on and to establish a case number with Chrysler Customer Care. The rep assigned to research my case called me before the dealership did to tell me the car was ready to go-nice to see that kind of customer service these days!
For my 2005 aero blue limited roadster I noticed the delamination about 30 days ago. Brought it in to Hall Chrysler in Virginia Beach to show them the problem. We all agreed this was unsat workmanship and then through researching this forum I saw the TSB mentioned. I informed the dealer of the TSB and they gave me the Customer Care number.
Evidently the applicability of the TSB is tied to your state. VA wasn't listed as one of the "allowable" states, but after resolution of my issue I think it will be since I am completely satisfied with the new top and a new micro-switch and cable that "broke" during installation.

About a month ago I was sent to a local dealer to start the process and have them order the top.
The Rep said the last one they order took about three weeks. After a month went by I went to Chrysler got a case number. I was informed last week by Chrysler Customer Service that my top would probably ship to the dealer sometime in October. My Window is held in place by Gorilla black duct tape. Looks terrible.
Hope you get a top quickly the dealer told me over 200 on back order.

My warranty guy sent me this, maybe the numbers listed on the bulletin here can help those having trouble getting theirs done.
p.s. I have the complete service bulletin list if anyone wants it.

I would be interested in seeing the entire bulletin...did anyone notice that there is no mention of a specific year?
