Chrysler to Replace '05 Convertible Tops Under TSB - YAHOO!!
Well, I received a phone call from an aide to Senator the Honorable Jeff Sessions (R) Alabama and was told that they are waiting for a response to an official inquiry about our little problem here.
I asked him if we were whistling in the dark on this and he told me "No. When it gets to an "inquiry" level, it has now become official and is an "issue of interest" to a U.S. Senator. (I could hear the capitalization of these words in his voice).
I also asked him if it would be of any help for other members to contact their Senators and put pressure on the NTSB from other vectors. He replied in the positive.
So, if you are really interested in getting this issue resolved for ALL Crossfire roadsters, I suggest y'all either call or write letters to your representatives in Washington D.C. Keep griping here, but take it to the next level and make your reps earn their keep.

She said she would talk to some one about it and was call back and told that it would be covered in full. new top ordered by the dealer and said would be in in about a week the installed will keep everyone posted
Forgot to update.
3 hours of driving, 6 hours of waiting and I now have a new top!
Brought her home and treated her to some 303 protectant. Told to leave top up for a few days. Looks good!
FYI - Appears that this is an original top. So are we gonna have the same problem 5-6 years down the road???

But say, if it does fail again, and you are still under 100k/10y, are you still covered?
is there a particular climate area that is most likely to cause the adhesive to fail?

Ditto! Shed some light for all of us that have been "Denied"
Sure dont mind at all her name was Christine her phone # is 800 763 8422 extension 66211 good luck to everyone here she treated me good have not been called yet will inform when it is replaced
Took the roadster in on Monday. Took about 6 weeks from the time I first brought the letter to the dealership for them to get this set up and get the new top.
Picked it up at 5 today and it appears the suspension guy did a good job. Sure looks good streached so taunt. It is noticably harder to pull down and close now. Is this expected with new canvas? Any others experience this?

For all who are having problems, I was told no as well. I calmly and politely asked the front line representative to "Open a case" with Chrysler. She did so and gave me the case number. A few days later I got a call from Christine about the case and she asked me to take the SRT6 to my local Chrysler dealer to document the issue. I took it to my local dealer where they took several pictures of the window falling out as well as a picture of my odometer and VIN tag. About a week later I got a call from Christine saying that Chrysler would replace the top, but that I would have to pay a small deductible. I argued a bit (calmly and politely) about having to pay a deductible, but was told that it was the only option I had, so I agreed.
I dropped the car off last Tuesday to have the top installed and picked it up Wednesday afternoon. The top looks perfect and over all I am very satisfied with the way Chrysler handled my case.
One piece of advice I would give is to not call that number akakaz2 posted. I would try to work the system (open a case) first. If Christine gets flooded with calls, we may frustrate and lose one of the few folks at Chrysler who is helping our cause.
I hope this information helps.

I like how tight and smooth the top is, so I decided to leave it as is.

so this extented warranty offer comes for free with it or you need to pay? Under my VIN nothing comes up even it is a 2005.....??? Any reliable links were I can check?
i would say call the 800 chrysler # and open a claim and explain to them the year and all and see if you can get it taken care of
Is anyone becoming fed up that only eight (8) states are included in the extended warranty to 10 years?100,000 miles? Why only those states? Is it because those states have the strongest consumer protection laws or the most aggressive attorney generals? Do we need to form a class action to force Chrysler to do the right thing? I opened a case file only to get stone-walled by a case worker and their supervisor who would not provide any meaningful information (i.e.)...why just eight states and refusal to share the actual Chrysler extension documents. I went back to the Customer Assistance Center where they appear to be concerned with the way the Case Management group is handling this. Clearly the case managers and focused on the priority of keeping costs as low as possible and not rolling out a fair and consistent extension program to replace all the tops regardless what what state the car was shipped to.We all need to apply the pressure on Chrysler to urge them to amend the extended warranty to all 50 ststes. The firt number to call is (800) 992-1997 Customer Assistance and open a case file.

I would really appreciate hearing from any owners that have been successful at getting Chrysler to include their VIN number for the extended warranty for states not originally included in the original service bulletin. In reviewing all of the threads it appears some owners have gotten assitance toward replacement cost...either covered in full or at least with a small deductible or some other form of cost assistance. Any info would be greatly appreciated and shared.

Our problem is not enough cars. Everyone is playing the odds it won’t make the news and make them look bad, so not worth the time. Chrysler bean counters have already calculated the cost of a law suit over repair costs for the remaining cars and decided to gamble on the law suit.
$2000 x number of roadsters not covered = big $$$$ / $40K the going rate to pay and not go to court
I was turned down for the second time. I purchased the car in March of 2006 in Philly and drove it back to New Orleans. It’s always been a Southern Car but since it was purchased North of the Mason Dixon line I guess no means no. BTW My rear glass actually came out while driving it with the “Problem Solved” repair. Oh well…
