Well, I took the advice of many on this thread and sent an email to Chrysler inquirying about the extended warranty. Below is my email followed by their response:
It is my understanding the warranty on the convertible top has been
extended to 10 Years or 100,000 miles. Several Crossfire owners have received a letter from Chrysler but I have not received anything yet. The
following TSB 23-035-11 was provided as a reference. Since I purchased this vehicle last year, I'm not sure if this letter may have been sent to a previous owner. Please send any information in regards to the extended warranty to me at the above address.
Chrysler's Response:
Thank you for contacting the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center in
regards to your 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Convertible Two Door Roadster.
Unfortunately there is no extended warranty on your vehicle for what you
have inquired about.
Your concerns, particularly in view of the expense and inconvenience
involved in this issue, are understandable. However, your request for
consideration in this matter must be declined, because the vehicle in
question has exceeded the time or mileage limitations of the
manufacturer's warranty at the time the expense was incurred.
Although a more favorable reply could not be provided, sharing your
concern with us is appreciated.
Thanks again for your email.
Sincerely,
Sabrina

You must identify your VIN and personal info.
And, Kane? You are correct. Snailmail is best, but there is no trail of contact to follow. Using this vector, they assign it a case number in an email back to you in 2 minutes. Kinda' puts them in a corner for follow-up.
At least I hope so!
Now, send those contacts, everyone!

Hmm, we need to try and take this further, as they obviously now have a form letter reply to our e-mail, which they think is going to put the matter to rest.
Anybody know if there is any way we can get the NHTSA involved, as it would surely be a safety concern, if it were to come out at speed.
And still no real answer as to why some vehicles are covered, and some not

Not looking to create more controversy but why is this limited to only the '05 model year? What about those who have a '06 -'08? Has anyone with one of these later years experienced this issue or is it somehow only occuring on '05s?
Ok get this ........Spoke to Jaden again today, and he said he has done some more research, and that my car came from a different production line, in Michigan, than the ones affected by the recall, which used a different type of glue. WTF ! !I told him that as far as i knew they were all assembled by Karmann in Germany, he says not according to his sources ...........
These are the people we are having to deal with, what chance do we have....is it time for a class action ???

just received my email/letter from sabrina.
same rejection we are all getting.
i think filing a complaint with the ntsb would be the other way to go.
after all, think of that window flying out at 70mph on the highway.

It looks like 62 official complaints of this issue.
Dating back to 2008!
Here goes one more...

just filed my complaint.
nhtsa cni 10426457
if they have 62 complaints out of appx 950 roadsters, that is appx 15%.
come on everybody....let's get with it and do your share.

deltacrossfirebob, I think there are many more than 950 roadsters, as there are 928 SRT6 roadsters alone, so I would think 62 complaints is a tiny fraction of the number of roadsters produced. Maybe someone will chime in with the actual number, but I can see why Chrysler are so unconcerned if that's the number of complaints that are lodged.
We need to try and get this situation out to the masses , how I don't know

Has anyone in Canada had an issue? I called yesterday and was given "It is vin specific" and there are no recalls and no TSB's on your vehicle. I said that the fourth convertible built after mine received the TSB notice and again got it is VIN specific and yours is not on the list.
I wonder if those who filed a NHTSA complaint in the US were included in the recall.... Maybe that is the key. One of the problems of fixing issues yourselves is it does not get the info required to the NHSTA / DOT for a recall. I know I never put in a complaint to anyone about my ignition switch - I just fixed it - maybe I should have filed a complaint. My top isn't loose but I have to assume it may in a couple years if everyone elses is. Also if you imported a car from the US and this happened, it is a safety issue. Maybe more complaining is a first step in getting these issues fixed for free for everyone. If you can't get any where with Chrysler Canada I am sure they would love to hear about it at the Ministry of Transport:

Keep up the US and Canadian complaints and it will make it much easier to file a small claims court complaint if you have proof they a) covered some tops because of a defect, b) you had the same problem and c) there were multiple complaints unresolved. The more you complain the more you have to gain!
