Convertible Top Sensor Beep
Re: Convertible Top Sensor Beep
You can then reach in and access all the bulbs.
Re: Convertible Top Sensor Beep
Just remember you only have 10 minutes before the pressure goes out of the system and it starts to close on you. You must move the top a bit every nine minutes or so to keep pressure in the system. Have the replacement bulb there and just remove one and install the other. It is a bit of a reach inside. Also be sure you know which bulb you want to replace before starting.

Hello Zeracer,
last year I put back this striker pad but the problem is still open.
Everything is OK when I lower the top. But when I latch D ring latch handle the sound beeping is starting and the LED don't turn off but start blinking. For a minute or two. Then stop and after about 10 or 15 minutes of driving beeping and blinking starting again.
I don't know how to check sensor which indicates that D-ring latch handle is latshed.

1) Start engine.
2) Put top up all the way, put windows up all the way.
3) Wait for beeping to stop if it will stop; move car, drive it, if that makes beeping stop.
4) Keep engine running, stop moving car.
5) Turn D handle - if windows go down, sensor is OK.
If the windows do NOT go down, you found your problem- the sensor is bad.
If the sensor tests OK, then some other sensor or item is preventing the top module from thinking that the top is up all the way and the cycle is complete.

Yes, you can't "put top up all the way" wihtout latching the D handle.

Latch or unlatch D handle ?
Re: Convertible Top Sensor Beep
1.
Pizzaguy
Point 5. - the windows go down so the sensor must be OK.
I drove the car to the mechanic to solve this problem.
The mechanic didn't solve the problem but open a new one.
The problem is:
I unlatch the top and I put it up, the top comes up to the stopping point and doesn't stay at that point. The top just falls down.
If I want to complete the operation I must hold the top with my hand at the stopping point and push the button to continue the process electrically. It seems it is a mechanical problem. What holds the top at the stopping point (100 to 150 mm over the windshield)?

If I remember right, you can get a glimpse of the location of the cord while watching Marc's video on replacing the top.
Convertible Top Replacement Video
I have the same problem. I have to hold the top with one hand while I initiate the raising of the top and then I have to catch it with one hand while I'm lowering the top. Not a big deal. I'll someday tackle opening up the top to get to the cord.

He is excused for not understanding electrical or electronic troubleshooting - almost NO 'techs', 'mechanics' or similar do. But if he really did cause this, jeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
See why I fix stuff myself - or go to a Crossfire tech day?
