It's a ragtop convertible, what do you expect? And I am in Arkansas, but lived in Dallas for a year, I could go for a drive in 110F heat (and I DID, several times), the A/C kept up just fine.
I live in Phoenix. Our limited roadster is a daily driver, it sets out a lot, never have any problem cooling it down rapidly. Maybe your a/c needs looked into.
My AC never fails to cool the car even at 100 degrees outside
Crossfires have the coldest AC of any car I have ever owned and with such a small interior it's never a problem
Have your AC checked out as I think it isn't working to its max point
If I have to leave my roadster out in the sun for extended period of time, I use the Covercraft Custom Convertible Interior Cover to prevent the seats from getting too hot and prevent leaves and bird droppings on seats...
Hi everyone - I'm speaking about the large, black metal cowling that contains the twist handle that locks the top closed.
Are you telling me that yours never gets burning hot when the car sits in the sun for a period of time?
I only ask because my top was replaced - and if yours are not getting hot, then they must have not replaced some type of insulation when replacing mine.
Hi
I live in Queensland, Australia, and it gets hot here.
my wife and I made a white material cover which covers the whole turret, all glass, and secures on to door handles and a tail of material is secured by opening the boot ( trunk) and tucking the cover tail into the boot.
it does help to keep it cool and clean.

I had a black Crossfire coupe at one time and in the summer sun the top got so hot I could have fried an egg on it.
I never did because I could not figure out if butter or lard would damage the shine.
My Aero Blue does not get so hot and a buddy’s white one would be a complete failure.
An Egg McMuffin was my way around the problem.

There is NO insulation in the convertible top - it is fabric, period.
The housing you speak of contains the mechanism for the latch/D handle - there is no insulation in there.
It was 95° today and my AC cooled down my roadster just fine. But the panel you talk about was so hot inside you could NOT leave your hand on it. I say yours is normal.
I don't have that problem in MI but I put the top down in May and then put it up in November when it goes into storage. Yes it is garaged and yes, it is regularly in the 80s and low 90s here during the summer.
