10-4............................... a thing of beauty is right.... If this had been around at the time I bought the cars, it would have been my 1st mod for sure.... We did the installs without pulling the exhaust or bothering any alignment as well...it can be done. If any of you are coming down thru central IN, and need your's checked out, just let me know....we can do that. My mechanic has just about learned every little detail about these cars, as he and I keep working on them...

 

I second the ideal that a wavetrac should be the first "serious" mod to do on the car, it really helps get all that peppy supercharged power to the ground your passenger side tire will thank you

 

I have to say that I am impressed with the Wavetrak after my visit to NCCAR. Putting the car through its paces on the racetrack really let it shine.

If you caught my earlier posts in this thread I was VERY concerned that the back-end comes out too easily with the Wavetrak. Well, I figured out why, and it wasn't the Wavetrak - well, mostly. It was my Sprintbooster! Once I took the Sprintbooster off the car, I had SOOOO much more throttle control. I didn't have any problem with the back-end coming out when I didn't want it to. I could add power in the middle of a curve without worrying (yeah, I know you shouldn't do that, but sometimes you have to).

So, advice to any Wavetrak owners: get rid of the sprintbooster.

I will say that I had a lot more trouble making the back end come out when I did want it to... that was kinda a bummer, but my back tires (and wallet) are thanking me.

 

That stinks, I just got my SB a couple months ago.
My diff arrived yesterday; to be installed early next week. Followed by Rob's tweaked manifolds, a refreshed tune, and another pull on the dyno. (I'll definately get a video of it this time)

 

Don't you have the selectable type sprint booster? Why not just set it to stock, or the sport mode at the track? I haven't got the Wavetrack(yet!) but I know what you mean that throttle control can sometimes get a little tweaky at the limits, at least in the red "Race Mode" setting. I use the "Green" setting all the time. And I would hate not having it for daily driving.

I've not found any reason to remove the SB from my car, subsequent to installing the WaveTrac.
I would not make a blanket statement that folks with the WaveTrac need to remove this device.
Perhaps yours is malfunctioning. I, too, have the original (non-selectable) SB for the SRT-6.

actually to cut Tom a break, if you were into the round track scene, I could see it being a little touchy, but that is what makes it nice...and quick... touchy is nice....lol

 

Yes, Tom is right. At the limits of traction at the Track or Autocross, throttle control can be real touchy, especially when your putting down the H.P. that a lot of us have. I think Tom may like the Selectable SB. You Dragsters only need throttle control for a few seconds @ launch.

 

I have to agree...as I have swapped ends before...but, WITH the wavetrac, I think it is lot more predictable. I really enjoy it more. So, in the end, I think you have to do what works for you. Tom and I have ridden together before. He knows how I like to play....lol

 

I picked my car up this morning. I took it easy on the 1-mile trip from the shop to the office. As soon as I get out of the car my cell rings; guess who. When I pulled away the shop owner saw a small oil spot where the car was parked...
So it is now back on the lift, he said he may have nicked one of the seals during the process. Hopefully it will be ready for the drive home.

Now back to the wavetrac...the sprint booster gives you an instant throttle, but, with the mods Tom have and many others, the added HP has to be factored in. I like the instant response, and as Tom has witness pre-wavetrac can be handled in the right hands....the wavetrac is a whole lot more predictable.

 

I like the instant responce of the sprint booster in combination with the wave-trac too. I think it is just a personel preference if you like it or not and maybe has something to bo with what you are use to. Nick and I switched cars at the last Dragon and while I was very impressed with the 55 especially the brakes, Nick couldn't wait to get out of my car, muttering something about uncontroable throttle.Howard on the other hand enjoys driving my car as it is set up close to his.

 

Remove my Sprint booster last week then went to the track my 60 foot for better ,,,one SRT 6 ,I have a sprint booster for sale, make offers, start the offers over $190.00 or I'll just keep it until I buy another SRT 6 . jim

 

Jim, did the SB not work right with the V-8 as I can't see hesitation helping 60' times.

 

it works great, on the street if i gave 1/8 throttle the booster would boost it to 1/2 throttle so every take off was fast,, at wot there is no Difference Sprint booster or no sprint booster .. I took it off for a test to find out if there were any difference at the track, and because of the V8 is better without the Sprint booster, that's why mine is for sale. now of course just as soon as I pick up another SRT6 ,, in a few years I will need it back again lol jim
